“Outstanding B&B with excellent service in beautiful Mt. Pleasant”

This B&B was an excellent choice for our honeymoon in Charleston. The property is very cozy and the hosts were extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about the Charleston area. The location was great. Just minutes away from the beaches at Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island and from historic downtown Charleston. The stay also included a delicious and hearty breakfast every morning. Great place for couples to get away, and I highly recommend it.

“Best kept secret just minutes from Historic Charleston!”

We couldn't have been more satisfied with this beautiful B&B! It was the perfect respite from the busy schedule we had. The building itself was richly decorated, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The owners, Steve and Phyllis, warmly greeted us as we arrived. The only other time we saw or even heard the other occupants was at breakfast. Our room looked exactly like what I imagined a southern plantation bedroom would look. The little embellishments such as the tiny chandelier in the bathroom and the four-post bed added elegance. The bed soft matress and the plantation shutters made sleeping in an unfamiliar place no problem at all! The food was incredible - Steve is a great cook! They were very accomodating, offering a decaffinated coffee option upon my request. Steve has an extensive knowledge of Charleston and the surrounding areas and can tell you all of the best places to visit. The breakfast room overlooks the back of the property where 300-year-old live oaks decked with hanging Spanish Moss stand on the edge of a brackish marsh (no bugs!). We watched an egrett walking around catching his breakfast while we munched on ours. One morning, we got up early to watch the sun rise from the long dock behind the house. I thought to myself: "Why on earth would anyone stay in a hotel when this (less expensive) option is avaiable?" We plan to return to Charleston, and when we do, we will most certainly stay at Plantation Oaks again!

“Great first B&B experience!”

We weren't sure if we would be able to travel to Charleston due to Hurricane Irene, but they were very accomdating to the possibility of delaying our trip due to the storm. We went on to enjoy our long weekend and they let us check in early and even upgraded our room for us! The house was beautiful and the room was fantastic! It was only about 5 miles from Isle of Palms and a short drive into downtown Charleston, but far enough out it was very peaceful. We only had breakfast one of the two mornings we were there, but it was delicious. Anytime we go back to Charleston as the two of us, we will definitely stay again. We stayed in the Plantation Room and will book that room in the future.
