Nice, clean hotel. Good breakfast near local amenities. Bathroom needed abit of redecorating, but otherwise great value for money.

Excellent service

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: Convenient, reasonable, helpful staff.
Having just rode a mountain bike from Bognor to Cardiff, with a full day of rain on the last day, we were in a pretty soggy and dirty state. However, despite this, the hotel staff were very accopmodating with helping to sort out our bikes and get to the room to get cleaned up and refreshed quickly. Nice job...

Very good location and superb room

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, the room, the staff and the general ambiance
Cons: I was kept awake by traffic noise as our room was positioned at the end of the hotel nearest the major road that runs alongside. Room 327
Location: Great range of restaurants and bars in walking distance. A cinema nearby. Boats trips to the city.
The hotel is ideally placed for a trip to Cardiff. Based in the Bay Area, with excellent access to public transport into the city centre, there is also a wide range of restaurants and bars nearby. Room exceeded expectations, being very spacious with two large doubles to ensure a good nights sleep for both of us. Check in and outs were faultless, all staff were charming.

Hen weekend, multiple rooms booked

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Rooms ample size, bathroom lovely it had a swing door so someone could be in the toilet as someone was using the sink. Shower was definitely better than most hotels. But... The bed was rock hard - if you like this you'll be fine. The sofa bed (which two girls were supposed to share) was very over used, you could feel the springs and we kept rolling together! I guess it was our unfortunate luck that we had a room where the sofa bed had been used a lot but I would not advise booking a room for four with the intention of two sharing the sofa bed. I had to walk the bride to be back, taxi is about £5/6 though. The walk wasn't too bad for a hotel not in the centre. It was lovely to walk to the Bay on Sunday too. Overall though, I spent a lot of time in the room as I had to bring the bride to be home very early (unfortunately) so would recommend it and would stay again... but definitely not with 2 sharing the sofa bed.

good location

Pros: Nice, clean, modern hotel
It was Welsh graduation day and that reflected the high cost of the room. Wouldn't stay again at the price we paid. No breakfast included. Mattresses hard.

Not friendly not good not worth it!

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Pros: Not much
Cons: The above
Location: Cardiff and Cardiff bay are great, there is masses to do and very good restaurants and shopping. I'd recommend Burger and Lobster, a fantastic meal
We phoned in advance to check if it was OK to arrive early as we had a function to go to and needed to change. We were told that would be no problem and he would put a note on file. When we arrived we were told by an unfriendly receptionist that our room wasn't ready and there was no note on the file. Eventually a room was found but we were left feeling bad about putting the receptionist to so much trouble! The hotel corridors were smelly, stale beer and sweat. The room didn't have any bed linen. It looked like the bed had been stripped of the duvet cover and pillow cases and what was left was a creased mess. The WiFi didn't work and neither did the shaving point.

Excellent Hotel

Posted 16-Jul-2015
Pros: Everything, fantastic hotel.
Location: Dr Who experience, Cinema, Bowling, restaurants, Norwegian cafe (in an old Norwegian church used by Roald Dahl ) Millennium centre, boat trips.
We found the hotel very easily and were allowed to check in early as the room was ready. Check in was very friendly and excellent, we found the room to be very clean, tidy and well supplied with toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. There is only a car park between the hotel and the red dragon centre which includes bowling, cinema and plenty of eating venues. It is a further 5 min walking to the mermaid centre of Cardiff bay which has a good variety of restaurants. Very good hotel in a great location, we will defiantly use again when we revisit Cardiff bay.
