“quality hotel but problem phone line”

overall pretty satisfied with the hotel facilities and services. Only downside was having some problems with the phone line. The operators put our phone to "do not disturb" mode (though we didn't ask them to), causing us to make several unnecessary phone calls in order to get hold of other family members who lived in other hotel. After complaints, Hyatt canceled some phone charges. Convenient located near night clubs zone, good for party-goers. Also good deals for the hotel promotion(pay $100, get $200 credits) to be used inside Hyatt.

Area recommendations

shoppers could go to the new Isla marina plaza (across from Westin hotel), there is a good cinema inside the plaza ticket costs half of U.S. price. take advantage of the bus in hotel zone instead of taxi.

“big bang for the buck - fabulous beach”

This was my 4th time to Cancun. I have stayed at other hotels but read some reviews about the the Hyatt redoing their beach. I was so impressed with what they did externally, it will be really difficult for me to pick another hotel when I go back. This Hyatt is older and is just ok AND no free wi-fi but the location, the pool, and the beach are what make this hotel worth staying at. If your looking for nicer rooms, stay at the Marriot or Ritz. Those hotels (while very nice) are far away from everything - unless you don't plan on leaving your hotel.

“Very relaxing”

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very attentive. It did rain a-lot and some water did come into the room but that was because of the high winds and they came to clean it up.Overall we had a nice experience. The pools are nice with a bar connected to it. The beach is nice and there are plenty of lounge chairs. It was nice to have a drink on the beach. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommended. :)

“Awesome Hotel - Awesome Staff!!!!!”

When reading the reviews I don't put too much emphasis on them. A lot has to do with the frequency and experience of travel, expectations, and comparisons. I travel tropical twice a year, for nearly 20 years and stay at either a 5 APPLE+ or deluxe/luxury properties. Because we were going for 15 days we went for a little less, but surprisingly got just as much, if not more. The hotel was very nice and clean. It was very comfortable and simple to the fact of very zen and a relaxed atmosphere. The employees of the hotel were constantly working hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They went out of their way to know your name when you approached the front desk. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier. I would recommend this hotel hands down!!!! I truly can't understand the prior comments of rude staff, because in 15 days we didn't run into one of them!!!! Perhaps they were all off on holiday??? lol. Relax and enjoy the hotel!!!! You won't be disappointed, unless it is due to your own unhappiness and issues!!!

“Lovely time during this slow hotel period.”

The week before Thanksgiving was a slow hotel time, so we felt like we had the hotel to ourselves. Service was excellent. Enjoyed two of the restaurants and the deli after an all day bus trip. Plenty of chairs, cabanas available at the beach which was beautiful. We had an ocean view room so enjoyed the lanai for morning coffee and watch the waves. Weather was great, no rain, just warmth and humidity.

“Enjoyed the Hotel”

We spent 10 days at the Hotel in November and really enjoyed the stay. The staff was very friendly and we never had a problem. The current double the credit offer at the hotel was a really great deal making all the meals (including drinks) very affordable. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection of different foods very well presented and it was something we used everyday. The Hotel also organised some activities at the beach or the pool which was fun to participate. Overall we were impressed and would definately go back.

“Superb hotel in a perfect location”

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Cancun was nothing less than superb! This was an off-season stay so check-in was easy, as was check-out. Sure, I could have used the club level to do this, but there was no need. The club king room had a spectacular view, cleaned spotless everyday. The staff was so friendly. Food and service was excellent! Facilities were always well kept. With an Expedia tour manager on-site, this took the hassle out of wasting time with all the tour vendors in the area. Best Buy travel was excellent! They were there at the airport waiting for our pick-up and on time at the hotel for our return. Our 5-day stay in the Hyatt was nothing less than spectacular. I do recommend going in off-season, after Aug, and a Club room. The weather was still superb, and super breezy. The Club offers continental b-fast, evening drinks and hors d'œuvre's so you can eat out in the great restaurants in the area. The Hyatt Regency is Great

When to go

Go in the off-season, after Aug. I was there 5-9 Oct and the temps were in the 80's with nice breeze and no rain, even though scattered t-storms was forecast daily.

Getting around

Take the bus! They are cheap and fast. Taxi's are too expensive.

Must see

Go to XCaret, it was an awesome eco park, with great food. swim with the dolphins, snorkel in the underground caves for about 8KM

“Beautiful Location”

One of the best views and private beaches I have ever been to. Room was small - however we were rarely in it. Service of the hotel could have been better. Doormen were great and helpful - however "The Grill" staff were very unattentive with minimal to NO service - enough for us to complain. Great Location, Great Lounge area, stunning beach. Use caution with their restaurant.
