Very convenient and welcoming place!

We were delighted with our two night stay at Aggarthi. Pierre and Mirium were most welcoming. The location is excellent as it is about 300 meters from the Tapestry Museum and just a little further from our guided all day tour of the Normandy Beaches. The breakfast was outstanding with so many homemade goodies and farm fresh eggs. There have several dogs (quite cute) and about 5 cats (we only saw one). Be advised that there is a slight cat odor, however our room was very clean (no cat odor here) and provided a good night sleep.

Pleasant Stay

The family who runs Aggarthi are friendly and eager to help, and the breakfast was wonderful. The room was always spotless, but it was a bit small.

Excellent B&B Experience!!

Posted 14-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
The room was clean, charming and the bed was comfortable. There was a small kitchen that we shared with other guestrooms. The included breakfast was as good as we've ever had! Although we didn't take time to enjoy the garden area, it looked nice and relaxing. As other reviews commented, the gate into the courtyard isn't made for large cars, which we did not have. The big, red door to the courtyard is impressive. The owner and her three adult children do an excellent job hosting, cooking, baking and maintaining the property

Cosy place

Not so much an hotel as a family who has an extra house in the garden. Don't arrive to late the first day. Kitchen (shared with two other rooms). Spacious room. No tv (not that I minded). Bed was a little bit soft for me. Very close to city centre. Not very far from the railway station either. Very cute dogs (and cats) running around in the garden. Talkative and informative concierge speaking good English.

Cute Town, Cute B&B

This is a family run establishment with six rooms. The family is kind, helpful, and friendly. We enjoyed our time speaking with them. Our room was a bit cramped, but the brother and sister doing the legwork for their mother were a delight. The breakfast was copious and delicious, with a great variety of offerings.

A great location

Posted 12-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
We were contacted by the owner before our arrival to give directions and approximate time of arrival. Thus we were a bit surprised our room wasn't ready at 12:15. The room we had bore no resemblance to any of the pictures on the website. Obviously they were renovating the hotel, aiming for a rural French shabby chic look. However at the moment it was more shabby than chic. They had just had new windows so a bit of redecoration was inevitable but there was wallpaper hanging off in the upper hall and a sheet of hardboard for the ceiling in the room. The bed was very comfortable and if it had been in one of the completed rooms would have been very acceptable. The owner was very attentive, even supervising the consumption of our breakfast! The location was perfect for visiting the town and once it is completed it will be absolutely charming.

Slightly disappointing

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Did like the fridge in the room, and tea making facilities. There was also access to a little kitchen in another building.
Cons: The cleanliness of the rooms.
Location: Great location, near to the old town and its attractions.
Staff very attentive. Room not very clean, including a big stain on one of the throws on the setee. Even for a purportedly discounted room rate, we expected a better level of cleanliness in the room overall. There was no heating on, on quite a chilly evening, though it was switched on upon our request. Breakfast was quite comprehensive, served in a pretty dining room. The hotel was very close to the tapestry museum and the beautiful cathedral.

Wish we hadn't

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: The closeness to the City centre of Bayeux.
Cons: Where would i start?
Location: The city of Bayeux is beautiful and worth a visit. This is Aggarthi"s strong point. Its closeness to the city centre, the Cathedral and Restaurants.
Basically, we knew we had a small room as we were only staying one night before the ferry back to UK. However, there is small and there is small!. We weren't expecting 4* accommodation and we didn't get it. Cats climbed all over our car, so t you have a soft top don't take it there. We had problems getting in and out of the secured court yard as our car is quite low and the metal gate security on the ground is very proud and caught our exhaust, To leave we had to push the car rather than drive it out. Which at, 6am in the morning is no joke.
