Pros: Garden was beautiful
Went to bayeux for D day tour and stayed the night at this bed and breakfast. Garden was beautiful and close to trainstation and next to excursion point for tours. Breakfast was well done and enjoyed it tremendously.

Walk to everything

We really liked the location, we walked to everything, of course, we like to walk. Miriam was so helpful when the airline wouldn't deliver my luggage. Her kids who work at the B&B were very nice and professional. And my daughter loved the cats

Quaint B&B Close to the sights in Bayeux

Posted 09-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay at the Aggarthi. The proprietor was very nice and accommodating. She and her family made us feel welcome and were very helpful giving directions to sights in town. Within easy walking distance to all the sights (tapistry, cathedral, museums, etc.) Also, for the Normandy tours. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was good and served country style.

Good Location

Garden area very nice to sit in, but unfortunately when the weather isn't nice enough there is no place for guests to sit and relax other than in your room. Good location and Proprieter & family very nice and helpful. Good security. Lots of cats & dogs around but they are not bothersome.

Delightful B & B

Ancient house in beautiful old town, with a lovely garden, dogs, cats and hens. Bella our hostess was knowledgable and helpful and presided over a delicious breakfast. Thoroughly recommended if you want somewhere authentically French and loads of character. Very close to centre of Bayeux.

Family Run B&B

Posted 03-May-2014
Pros: Great Location close to everything and easy to find by car
Cons: soap in the shower, shampoo, tissues and additional toilet paper
Location: The beaches of Normandy,
The family is helpful and resourceful, giving out excellent recommendations for food, day trips etc. The room was large for European standards although it was up a rickety staircase. They did ask if I needed a lift. It is done in shabby chic and is quaint but worn. The lack of soap, tissues etc was chintzy. Breakfast was the same every day.

Would Not Return

Pros: Pear jam at breakfast - delicious! Easy drive to D-Day sights.
Cons: Urine odor & animal excrement. Shower stall with no area for soaps, dirty kitchen counter, floor, hair in sink, trash left in cans from previous guest.
Location: Beayeux is a lovely town. Close to D-Day Beaches. Good restaurants, nice shops, outdoor market to experience French culture.
Prior to arrival there were several pleasant, engaging & informative emails from the owner. We were looking forward to and anticipating an enjoyable visit. We were graciously welcomed for our 3 night stay by the owner's son....along with an overwhelming odor of cat urine inside the guest quarters. The scent continued to permeate and seemed to gain strength when the heater was on. Crossing the court yard to the breakfast room required some careful navigation as the brick walkway was dotted with animal feces. The dining table was indeed lovely, set with sterling serving pieces carefully placed. The same young man was there and he had prepared our meal of croissants, cheeses, crepes, fruit, coffee, juice and the best pear jam I have ever tasted. It was all very wonderful until he emerged from the kitchen with a fresh pot of coffee in hand...and a little kitten perched on his back. Very cute, but I have a serious issue with food servers prepping meals while handling animals!! When the owner presented herself, she inquired about our cash payment. This was troubling, as I had a receipt from Expedia stating the hotel had been paid. There was no indication that the room was reserved and held on my credit card and I was expected to pay cash Euro's at time of arrival. When I nicely explained my confusion and asked the owner for clarification, she became verbally abusive, lashing out and yelling at me. A simple explanation was needed but instead I was berated and called names. It was an upsetting and off-putting experience. A needless reaction by the owner. We paid her in cash and will never, ever return.
