“Good motel for the price”

The motel is basic, but the room was clean and it was quiet. With much higher prices for similar quality hotels nearby in Calgary the Super 8 was a welcome bargain for us since we were in Calgary for 6 nights. The staff, including maids, were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very basic. There were nearby shops for food, wine, and other needs. Also, the motel is very close to public transportation.

Area recommendations

The Super 8 motel is in Motel Village in the near northwest of Calgary. Thus, it is convenient to downtown and also to the rest of the northwest corridor via Crowchild trail and the light rail transit [LRT] line along this route. The northwest is a good area of the city based on home/neighborhoods, shopping malls, and other amenities and attractions such as Canada Olympic Park and the University of Calgary.

“Convenient to mass transit”

The room was absolutely clean and safe. It wasn't the most comfortable, and the breakfast was minimal. Easy walking distance to the C-line and it's right off of the Trans-Canada Highway #1. I was happy with my stay.

“Convenient position”

Easy to find if coming from the Rocky Mountains. Easy parking. Very near train into city centre - 10 minutes. Comfortable basic room. Heated pool. Breakfast included but minimal.

“Not Impressed”

The pool was not working, the TV was not working, and after the continental breakfast emptied, they did not restock it. I would definitely never stay there again.

“4 walls and a roof”

Its good enough if you need a cheap place to sleep and shower. You get what you pay for, but even then it should be cheaper.

“Will be returning”

This hotel exceeded my expectations for comfort and over all cleanliness. "Chemicals" in hotels usually bother me but I had no such reaction in this property. It's located very close to the C-Train which made commuting to my downtown meeting so easy. Parking, wireless internet and breakfast were all included with the room. Great value for the price of the room. I'll stay here again the next time I need to overnight in Calgary.

“Super 8”

It is not same as other super 8. It is more like motel 6. You are paying extra for nothing.

“From Kelowna”

This hotel uses extremely noisy radiator heaters. When I complained about it they sent me to another room that smell awful. I finally was given a room that was o.k. but the heater noise, though not as loud was still waking me up. Wireless internet is intermittent at best. You'd think that hotels nowaday could upgrade their routers since most travellers now have laptops.
