“Would certainly go back”
Everything about this hotel was good (including the excellent breakfast, as others have mentioned). It was very clean, well positioned, helpful staff and there is a restaurant next door that was of a high standard. Eight of us went for an annual outing and all agreed we would go back. There was helpful advice in what to do and how to use public transport, booking taxis and where to eat.
“The surrounding area is awful”
Potential customers need to balance the handy location to the Gare du Nord and Rogier metro station against the fact that the hotel is located in an area close to the seedy and offensive red light district. There are several very noisy North African clubs and bars next to this hotel too. The rooms lacked basics such as a kettle. I had problems with one rude staff member too,,,,,,,,,,,be aware that there is also some building working going on in an adjacent building so there is a lot of traffic in the area too. However, it is a reasonable 20 mins walk to the centre of the city.
“Good location, mediocre quality”
For price hotel room was very small. Breakfast buffet nothing great. Staff polite but not overly helpful. The overall look/service of the hotel was average. The best thing about the stay was the great location. Short walk for a view of the city and to the center.
“An easy Buda walk to all of the attractions.”
My only real complaint is the size of the beds. Unless they are bigger than a single my 6 foot 3 hangs and bangs onto wooden frames. A very good price for a hotel that is small enough for easy access and still has all the bells and whistles of larger hotels. Good food within 5 minute walk on the Buda side.
“WILL RETURN”
STAFF VERY HELPFUL. WHEN WE GO BACK WILL DEFINATELY STAY THERE.
“Buda”
We were looking for a weekend stay in Budapest and blindly chose this hotel. It was a good experience all around. The rooms were comfortable, the location was convenient. Staff in the afternoon was very helpful but the morning staff could be a little more polite. Breakfast was very satisfying. I would recommend this hotel.
“Good value, very convenient & comfortable”
Very well placed hotel, easy to reach Buda and walkable into Pest. You can also take bus 16 from Pest centre to end of chain bridge, or up to Buda castle. Fairly quiet position. Faclilities good with kettle useful, though they do not supply tea or milk. Breakfast excellent - sets you up for day. Only criticism - air conditioning was useless & room rather hot as it faced south.
“Excellent value for money and perfect location for a touristic stay”
Location of the hotel is almost perfect : out of the noise of the touristic streets but only 5 min. walking far from them; it stands at the foot of the Buda Castle area, you can reach by walking nicely in 5 minute; some nice restaurants and pub right on the corner, to take any extra refreshment or meal before/after a city tour. In short, you get off the hotel and just in a minute you get a super view of the Chain Bridge, of the Danube river, of the Pest landscape, of the Buda Castel Royal Palace and garden, and you immediately realize what is BUDAPEST like : all this out of the crowd of the traffic and of the shopping tourist herds: what more?
“Great Homebase”
This was a great small hotel. Friendly staff, ALWAYS willingg tp help. Answered e-mail prior to arrival on ways to get from airport to hotel, right on the money. Good value! Very nice breakfast area and the food was excellent. A computer was available and often unused. Wifi worked very well. We had two occasions that the directions to locations was not good, but our Hungarian capability was non existant - point and ask was our approach. Wonderful location, walked across the Chain Bridge to Christmas Market twice. Taxi cabs may need a little coaching since it is in an large, non through street.
“Quiet, helpful, convenient and comfortable - I would definitely recommend this hotel.”
Quiet, helpful, convenient and comfortable - I would definitely recommend this hotel. There was not much choice of hot drinks in the room which was a shame in winter. The location and proximity to the both buda and pest were excellent, and it was very clean.
