“Charming Place to Stay”
This small, owner-operated hotel is similar to to a bed and breakfast. It's in an historic house, not far from the central square. My wife and I both really enjoyed our stay, and the way everyone there went out of their way to make us feel at home.
“Great family-run hotel”
Really felt at home here. Friendly and helpful staff who all did their best to please. Would I stay there again? For sure. It would be like visiting family.
“Quaint, central hotel with very friendly staff. Recommended.”
Great location, just off one of the main shopping streets and minutes from the main squares. Lovely old character and quaint decor on the ground floor. Warm and friendly staff who spoke good English. Good size room with minibar (bit pricy) and the only place we found with tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms (free and replenished each day). Buffet breakfast was nice. We didn't think this was a 4* but we paid a 3* price so were happy with the value for money. The terrace off the bar overlooking the canal would be lovely in the summer. We would stay there again.
“Get what you pay for”
We chose this hotel because of position and price. We've stayed at several other hotels in Bruges over the years and as other say you spend little time in the hotel and we would prefer to spend more on meals out (which we did). Hotel is ok, tired is a word often used and is probably correct.; carpets need replacing etc but hotel is clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast is great with wide choice of meats, cheeses, bread, croissants and fruit as well as some warm/hot food for those who want it.
“Kind Staff, Bad Hotel”
I got to say, I'm really easy going with hotels, service, etc. But we had some problems with this hotel during our stay. The staff was super great. They recommended some good restaurants and even called to make the reservations. We overslept and missed breakfast in the morning, but the waiter brought out some food again for just the two of us and cleared us a table. The problems was just with the hotel itself, which was frankly just a little too run down. And since there was no ac, we had to sleep with a window open and both got absolutely destroyed by mosquitos.
“So sad to eave!!!!”
Recently had wonderful European vacation which included Bruges which turned out to be one of our favorite places We booked all of our hotels online throughout Belgium, France and Italy And the Azalea was our favorite ...the staff were very helpful and went out of there way to accomodate us...the big windows facing the canal with the canopy of leafy trees made the room a lovely relaxing place to come back to after miles of walking. We were in #3. The added bonus of a swan with three babies rtght outside the window was an added bonus. Breakfast was hearty with good coffee....a real treat to stay there!!!
“Wonderful stay”
Azalea Hotel was extremely welcoming. The barman was very helpful with suggestions about sites/areas to visit. The hotel was relaxing and had an old world charm coupled with modern facilities. Our window over looked a quiet canal and a nesting swan. The hotel is in walking distance of the central sights and we had no problem exploring most of Brugges during our three night stay. Perfect for couples who want to get away from it all and like plenty of beautiful buildings to look at. In Brugges food prices seemed on the high side but meals were substantial and yummy.Breakfast at the hotel was good and a relaxed affair.
“Cozy and convenient”
Very cozy hotel and central location in town. Friendly staff who all speak english. Takes pets. Breakfast was typical european style...very good and enjoyable. I would definitely stay there again.
“Small and cosy”
A very friendly hotel, staff are all very helpful. Quiet location as tucked away in one of the many back streets, but still very close to the hustle and bustle of Brugge. Would recommend to anyone. The decor is a bit tired, but breakfast is good and as stated the staff are friendly and helpful. Smoking is permitted in the bar area.
“tevreden”
Centrale ligging en parkeerplaats voorhanden. Ontbijt is goed en kamer eenvoudig maar voldoende. Vriendelijk personeel
