“Good Beach Hotel - Not For Business”

This hotel is partially closed and now has limited restaurant and support services. Mobile internet was not working and staff could not assist - the infrastructure was not there. To attend meetings in Hamilton, a taxi is needed, but in the mornings, the wait for a taxi was as long as half an hour, making it difficult to move around. Traffic into Hamilton from this location is very bad on weekday mornings, taking as long as 45 minutes for what is usually a 10 minute drive. But the beach is amazing and the property gorgeous!!

“Great stay”

This was an excellent place. Friendly, outgoing, and proficent staff, beautiful grounds and private beach. Three resturants on grounds, pricey, as are all cafes and bars in Bermuda. One cavat; grounds are hilly and terraced, there is a shuttle from the main building to the beach. Not the place for anyone with mobility problems. Bermuda is very hilly. TIP: Get a bus/ferry pass, cheap ,reliable, scenic transportation. We were there in Mid- October, weather was warm(low-80s and sunny) 6of 7 days

“Will return to Elbow Beach anytime”

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Elbow Beach and loved it. From the room to the beach and especially food at the restaurants. The choice of dishes covered everything, and the staff is extremely attentive. Thanks to Ennio, Umberto, and their waiting staff; Andrea, Roberto, Laura, Dan, and all the rest, they were always right there when you needed something. All the staff at the hotel was very pleasant and always asking if we needed anything.

Area recommendations
Hamilton for sure, for a very pleasant walk in the town amongst the many fashionable shops, restaurants, and the various gardens and art museum. Dock Yards, for some historic sight seeing, shopping, the dolphins and restaurants. A short ferry across the bay with onboard entertainment.
Dining
Lido, Seabreeze, Mickeys. We really enjoyed the Tapas grill, and one night we arrived late at Lido, but Ennio and Umberto took care of things through the other kitchen for a delicious and memorable 25th wedding anniversary dinner.
Outdoors or beach
The beach was breathtaking. Though the weather didn't cooperate for a couple of days due to Ophelia, nevertheless, we caught a couple of fantastic sun filled days on the beach.

“Very relaxing stay”

The main hotel is closed for renovations, but the lobby and other facilities are all available. We stayed in an air conditioned cottage down by the beach and the restaurants. The beach is clean and beautiful. There are lounge chairs, umbrella and two towels that are free for the guests to use. The service at the restaurants was great. The food was delicious, although expensive. The room was very spacious and comfortable with modern bathroom and very comfortable bed. There was a safe, a refrigerator and a table. It also had an outdoor porch with a partial view of the water. The only problem some might encounter is the fact that the facilities are built on the side of a mountain and there is a lot of walking up and down steep inclines. They supply a shuttle bus for those that want to wait for one.

“Hotel is in a beautiful spot but we were disappointed with its maintainance”

We only stayed one night. The room we stayed in the one night had much mold and we had a tough time breathing. Also, for security reasons, we could not open the dorry to get fresh air. There was no other room available. We may go back but only when the renovations are completed and the main hotel will be opne. We love Bermuda.

Area recommendations
Paget or Hamilton or Somerset. The entire island is beautiful
When to go
The best times to travel to Bermuda are during the months of March through November.

“Great experience”

Elbow Beach is itself situated in the prettiest part of the island. The beach along needs written about. The beach is raked and cleaned every day by staff. The staff set your towels and umbrealla up for you and within a short time are taking your drink order - right on the beach. Mickey's Restaurant on the beach was definitely the place to have lunch- even in your bathing suit. Try the Madrian Chicken Salad with curry dressing and plenty of fresh fruit. A nice plate for lunch. Twice a day the rooms are checked, clean towels, bathroom spruced up, bed turn down service in the evenings, plenty of lovely bath products each and every day. The most comfortable bed you can ask for. And as others have mentioned..the hotel staff need to be praised. They are the most helpful, courteous, efficient and truly friendly people. - they all make you feel at home and want to please you. Truly a great place to stay.

Area recommendations
Riding the ferry was fun. The glass bottom boat trip is fun and informative.
Getting around
Highly recommend buying a bus pass. The easiest way to get around the island.
Shopping
Bermuda has the typical tourist places to buy souveniers. Little else in the way of shopping so please do not go to the island expecting to do a lot of shopping. Shops are closed on Sundays and every day at 6p.m.

“Still the prettiest spot in Bermuda”

The room was large with a sitting area. The bedding is very nice. The room has nice touches like a new marble coffee table next to the sofa. The best part is the wonderful bathroom with big tub for relaxing with sea salts. I was very fond of the sea salts and so they kept bringing me more. Mrs. Thomas runs the bicycle livery. She was extremely focused on safety which is great. She recommended I not take one out on a rainy day as I was a novice and that was great advice. I did rent after that for her and her training of my riding was top notch. The waitstaff at the restaurants such as Reyna were friendly and hardworking. Michael Parsons runs the beach area and was very helpful. My beach umbrella set-up was always the way I liked it and they made sure to bring me regular drinks. I met the general management during my stay. Mr. Nunez who runs operations along with the General Manager was very helpful and made sure everything worked like clock-work. He is making a number of changes and the improvements are apparent. Elbow Beach is an institution with over 100 years of history - a true grande dame of a hotel. I would highly recommend. - Shannon

Area recommendations
I have looked at all the hotels in Bermuda. Elbow Beach has the best beach and lovely cottage rooms. I would stay there again over the other options.
