“Loved it, why are people whinging so much?”
I absolutely loved it. It's lively, very family friendly and the staff are helpful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and although it was just me & my son I never felt alone. On arrival I was greeted with a lovely cold flannel and a refreshing glass of rum punch. I had booked a standard room on the ground floor but they had given me a beautiful ocean frount room on the 3rd floor. But annoyingly I had to change rooms as I'm afraid of heights/lifts. Room was huge & clean perfect for someone with a child. The bar staff were cool and no matter which bar I went to they remembered my favourate drinks. The grounds were huge and perfect for taking your baby for a stroll in the evening to get them off to sleep. Food was OK sometimes a bit bland but my son enjoyed it so that was the main thing.I mostly had room service (which was really prompt) Kids club was great the staff were lovely and genuinely seem to love kids. The watersports guys were entertaining. They do try and get you to try every watersport going but then why not, it's free. Also on a saturday (i think) they have craft markets a band buffet and a dance floor so you can go shake a leg. Also for business users they have free Wifi in Horizon restaurant but you need to sit near the entrance I found. Beach wasLovely and clean plenty of sun loungers To conclude a lovely hotel, I don't get what the complaints are about and as soon as I win the lottery I will definately be back there again :-)
“Skip this hotel:(”
This hotel is definitely not anywhere close to a 4 star. It needs a major facelift. The location is 45 minutes from anywhere including the airport and nightlife. The staff are unfriendly and the food is awful. We switched to the almond beach cuasarina which was much nicer, renovated, friendlier staff, better food and excellent location. Don't make the mistake of staying at the almond beach village:(
“Not happy”
People are great, Barbados is great. Hotel is old and shows it, not as clean as should be.
“do not go here”
This is an older facility and amenities. Some outside areas you can smell septic. The elevator would not go to the top floor. Restaurants do not open till 730am. Not enough staff at bars. Little security - locals on the beach ask you to get them hotel food & liquor.
“Always enjoy this hotel, especially the watersports”
This was a return visit, always treated very well by the staff, enjoyed the complimentary Rum. Good choice of restaurants, and watersports. The staff are friendly and eager to help. Will definately go again.
“Barbados sucks go to bahamas”
Bahamas had much friendlier people and better activities.
“Wouldn't recommend this hotel”
This hotel lacks attention to detail, upon arriving the reception and courtyard area had numerous water features of which not one was working , felt that the whole resort was being neglected and run down, swimming pools were dirty, felt that the whole place needed a good clean. The service was also not good some of the staff were quite rude, our room was ok but the toilet blocked twice and nobody seemed to bother after calling reception three times .
“Very nice beach location”
If your looking for a relaxing vacation on the beach this is a great spot. The beach access is huge and the activities such as snorkeling, jet skiing etc are steps from your room. The hotel is a bit outdated and could use a facelift, but its still in good shape. The food was good, not great, but there was lots of variety. My girlfriend really enjoyed our stay so I don't have any major complaints.
“Barbados try-out”
The place, ambiance and people were great. The food was terrible. Simply the worst food we have had anywhere. Most things were out of a can or doused with so much chemicals you couldn't tell what you were eating. Same with the alcohol, really cheap stuff. The air conditioning leaked water. And then they have all these rules - you have to go to dinner in long pants and shirt sleeves?! (For the canned food) Children under 16 are not allowed in the pool?! yet allowed in the ocean. You should put these restrictions on the website so people know what they are getting into. All in all, with the Caribbean sea and sun, we had a good time but we won't be going back.
“Extremely Satisfied”
The overall ambiance is FANTASTIC. Loved the rustic feel and enjoyed being surrounded by nature. The warmth and hospitality is second to none. The food from the facilities numerous restaurants was excellent. There's no real reason to leave the hotel, unless you would like to visit any other of the Almond Beach Resorts.
