Location: Downtown Decatur, GA. Very accessible to downtown activities.
Was rather hesitant to stay at a Motel 8 but because of the rate and only a one night stay we decided to try this particular hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean, beds comfortable and shower worked great. Would definitely go back there.

business journey

Posted 27-Jun-2014
Pros: Was close to downtown in a residential setting
Cons: signage on adjacent parking area for easier use Staff could share beauty of park in the next block which is beautiful early in the AM
Location: Wonderful experience being next to a 50 acre park / cemetery made for a great start of the day Superb walking venue and historical experience.
Good place to sleep. Good value. A McDonald's within 3 blocks for early breakfast if other than cereal is desired

Good Stay

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: the staff and location.
Cons: Rug was old and looked dirty, Blankets had holes in them but nothing disgusting. Did see roach in bathroom.
Location: we went to the Zoo and LEGOLAND Also went to Temple.
Was in Great location, nice and quite. Beds were comfortable, but blankets had holes in them. The rug was in bad shape, looked dirty. How ever the room smelled clean and I as pleased, all said and done. Staff was great, super nice. Breakfast waffles were excellent!! Will probably stay again if we can back into town. Did see a roach in the tub in the middle of the night.

Typical Motel

Posted 12-Jun-2014
Pros: Rooms were a good size and cleanCMay eou
Cons: Maybe the breakfast
Location: Nice resturants and bars in Decatur
Stayed 2 nights after arriving in the USA. Excellent rooms with a reasonable free breakfast. Decatur was a nice town with chic bars and resturants. Rail station about 15mins away which took you into Atlanta and about 20mins in a car Would stay there again

Nasty

Posted 18-May-2014 on Hotels.com
This was a dirty room. I'm sure not the worst in the world but gross. Examples: A greasy footprint on the wall next to bed, hair on the bathroom floor and on the bathtub, towels with stains and also hair. The breakfast was ok but limited selection. They had one kind of milk and it was stored in the refrigerator. We only stayed there because it was close to the courthouse and affordable. I wish I had paid more and got a better place. The neighborhood is a college town but still with a seedy element.

Good location

Posted 13-May-2014
Pros: Cost, Cleanliness, and proximity to Decatur Square.
Cons: Better breakfast bar.
Location: Decatur is a mecca for foodies, with lots of great restaurants & Dekalb Farmers Market. MARTA station right at Decatur Square gets you into Atlanta.
Super 8 is only one of two hotel/motels within walking distance of downtown Decatur and easily the least expensive. It does not have interior hallways but does have an elevator. The room was clean, no unusual smells. The beds and bedding were comfortable. A/C worked fine and though an outside unit was not too noisy. The room had both a refrigerator and microwave and a flat screen TV. Breakfast was limited to a waffle maker, some muffins, toast, cereal and yogurt. when things were gone they were not replenished. Downtown Decatur has good breakfast places however. I say the motel is within walking distance because it is only about 3 blocks from downtown. For those who cannot do that, the other hotel may be the better option as it is less than a block from downtown. Parking in downtown is challenging, Metered parking until 6:00 pm. Note that parking at the Super 8 is free; there is a fee at the other Decatur hotel. I would say the Super 8 was fine for me and my needs and was reasonably priced.
