“good location, average hotel”

Staff was wonderful, hotel is old. Road noise very problematic. Workout room in bad shape.

“Newly remodeled hotel”

Very nice rooms and bath. Ate in the restaurant, they were short on Chefs and my meal took a while to prepare, so they gave me 50% off. All employees were extremely courteous.

“Eh”

Not worth it. Stay at the Georgia Conference Center.

Area recommendations

Downtown is lovely, as is the majority of campus. Just be sure to stay at the Georgia Conference Center, not at the Holiday Inn.

“Extremely convenient!”

You can't ask for a better location for this hotel. It is right across the street from downtown and North Campus and easily within walking distance of bars, restaurants, concert venues, and much more. Our room was clean and comfortable. Warning for the cold-natured: the air conditioner in the room works extremely well! We did have some trouble with the free WiFi, but otherwise we were very satisfied.

Downtown/East Side... closest to restaurants/entertainment/nightlife.

“Very Convenient for UGA”

The room was comparable to other hotels, clean & comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful, a trait you'll find throughout the town of Athens...they love their visitors! The location is a very convenient walking distance from the downtown area. The biggest plus for me was the convenience of access to the UGA campus. We were able to leave our car parked & walk across the street to catch the campus transit buses that go everywhere on campus. If you have business at the college, this is the place to stay. One note: They don't have complimentary full breakfast, but the hotel restaurant is very affordable & has good food.

“Great place to stay while visiting UGA kids”

I arrived 8:30 am before UGA student orientation. They let me check in that early because they had a room and even gave me a king size bed - (though I had registered for 2 twins) NICE! Plus, free parking is great because parking is precious at UGA. I walked everywhere - campus, downtown - because the hotel is located right on the edge of campus and downtown. I felt very safe there (middle-aged single woman). Clean, quiet, comfortable. The staff is nice and goes out of their way to be helpful. I'l stay there again!

Getting around

The campus is not large and very pretty so walking is the best way to go - except it's too freakin' hot in the summer. The UGA bus service is FREE, safe, convenient, easy, and goes everywhere. Use it when weather doesn't permit walking.

“Screaming in the room next door”

Screaming and fighting in the room next door - no sleep at all. Called front desk, but it continued.
