Close to the Acropolis

Posted 26-Sep-2014
Pros: Location. Breakfast choices.
Cons: The rooms need to be updated.
Location: The Acropolis is within walking distance as is the museum and the Plaka neighborhood. There are also several restaurants nearby.
The hotel is in a good location, close to the Acropolis, restaurants & stores. It is an older hotel so the rooms are on the sparse side & need updating. The breakfast is very good with lots of choices. The front desk staff is nice enough, although their English isn't the best so it's hard to get good directions from them. I'm not sure I would stay here again.

4 Star location, 3 Star accomodation

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, location
Cons: Furnishings and linens haven't been updated since the 1970s. Had 2 different rooms within a week and hairdryers were ancient and barely functional.
Returned for a second weekend, only because we had prepaid and most alternatives were already full.

Great hotel for the money!

Posted 18-Sep-2014
Pros: A full breakfast was served every morning with friendly waiters. The staff was the best thing about this hotel: so helpful and determined to please.
Cons: Twice when we plugged something in a breaker blew, leaving us in the dark. Someone was there immediately when we called, and it was fixed immediately
Location: The hotel is right off the Plaka and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The green train is close by to take you to all the sites
After being on a sailboat in the Aegean Sea for 17 days, the Hotel Parthenon was a welcome relief!! The first thing I did was soak in the big bathtub and then finish it off with a good hot shower. Then I was able to use my tablet for the first time and check and send email! They furnished the hairdryer and a good mirror. The beds were heaven!

Ideal location

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: Location couldn't be better for tourists.
Cons: Furnishings and linens are dormitory-grade.
Location: Metro and Acropolis Museum are around the block.
Right around the block from Acropoli Metro station, with many reasonable restaurants in the Plaka to choose from. The hotel is rated 4-Star, but the rooms themselves barely earn a 3, in my experience using mostly tourist class hotels. Minimal furnishings with inadequate bed/bath linens provided. Disappointed, as this was a special trip for my husband and I.

Poor maintenance old hotel in city center

Posted 09-Sep-2014
The only advantage of this hotel is its location!! On arrival we waited for 10-15 min to check in because there were 2 receptionist one busy in the phone and the other was doing nothing but asking us to wait!! The hotel is very old and the pictures in the expedia doesn't reflect the real its actually deceiving. The elevator is very old and small We get upgraded by expedia and they sent us to the superior room which was in the 6th floor And we use the stairs because the elevator doesn't reach it. there were a welcoming drink and we went to celebrate in its balcony which seems to be a closed part of building roof Then we change our mind and decided to stay inside but unfortunately we got shocked when we saw a salamander with us in the room and we spent half an hour searching for it and trying our best to kill it!!!!!!! The furniture is old and the carpet looks to be made from plastic Pillow and bed was acceptable The remote control was very old without buttons. So we couldn't be able to change the channels the breakfast was below average And lastly If your interest is (((all)))about location and price its the best for you

Perfect Location reasonably priced

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful. Very good room service, reasonably priced.
Cons: The restaurant area, and the choice of breakfast.
Location: It is located in the very heart of Athens near to Acropoli and Plaka, lots to do around.
This hotel is in the perfect location in Athens. Big rooms, nice bathroom. It's also got balconies which come in handy in the evening especially with the heat.Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Just perfect for a short stay. Also Wi-Fi in the room which is a luxury in Greece.

Great Location, Dated Hotel

Posted 11-Aug-2014
We had two rooms here for 4 nights in Aug 2014. The location is excellent for easy access to ancient sights and market areas. Unfortunately it is very dated. Air conditioning is mediocre and internet spotty. Breakfast wasn't great but that might just be an American viewpoint. We had to use a hotel that provided three twins bed so our selection was limited. In the end, it was basically an extra cot in a typical room. Some of the sheets felt like plastic too. Also don't expect any taxi to be able to find. Plus the outside doesn't look like the photo at all. Not sure how they got that one! All in all, the location, 3 twins in a room, and price made it a viable option for us. But I would hope we could find a better place if we ever go back!

Excellent Location!

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Pros: Location!
Location: Major historic sites are within walking distance. So are restaurants and pedestrian only streets.
The hotel is located on a quiet street, around the corner from the major sites and restaurants. The hotel staff is helpful. Although the rooms are fairly plain, they are clean. The substantial breakfast includes hot and cold selections.
