Good value choice

Posted 02-Jan-2015
Pros: - Cost - Breakfast - Bed (firm but good) - Location
Cons: - Flourescent lighting in the lobby in chandeliers makes it look more shabby than it is. I know they save energy but use LEDs.
If you are looking for a hotel that is like a Marriott, it is not for you. If you would rather have money for other things, it is an excellent choice. The hotel is a little on the old side and so it is slightly worn. But it is clean, everything works, the room is comfortable and the breakfast is very good. It also has a terrace (though there were no chairs and three tables on the terrace.) The location is very good, a short walk to the Akropoli metro station. The neighborhood has a lot of restaurants and they are not particularly expensive. (The Italian restaurant around the corner is particularly good.) Perfection, it is not and so I give it 4 stars.

valuable and excellent

Posted 30-Dec-2014
We booked the hotel for family of 3, and arrived at this hotel at 24th Dec till 28th through the Christmas Holidays, the service was not compromised at all. The reception staff were nice and really help; the room was cleaned throughly everyday. The hotel itself is one hundred yards away to the Metro Acropollis station and the Acropollis museum although it is in a quiet street. Although restaurants around Acropollis are everywhere, I did love the restaurant at this hotel. The free break first is really generous, never try never know. The dinner menu is fixed, I had two on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, three courses cost 11.5 euro, typical Greek style, all lovely, even a dish with Turkey.

Albergo confortevole in posizione centrale

Posted 09-Dec-2014

semi-updated, large hotel near the Acropolis

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Great location. Clean. Bathroom up to date.
Cons: better mattresses; better AC
Location: the Acropolis! Plaka shopping & dining district.
Went a little upscale from previous weekend's stay at an older, smaller hotel. The plumbing, TV, etc were all up to contemporary expectations, though the AC didn't seem to do much (it was a bit stuffy; we ended up sleeping with the balcony door open), and the mattresses were very stiff (plus, instead of a king bed, they gave us two twin beds pushed together).

Dear Bill, First of all we would like to thank you for choosing Airotel Parthenon for your stay in Athens. I was sorry to hear that you have mixed feelings about our hotel. Kindly accept our most sincere apologies for causing you disappointment during your stay with us. I have gone through your comments very carefully with the relevant departments to see where the problem areas lie and to ensure they are not repeated. As far as the twin beds are concerned, we would like to inform you that the double beds are given according t the guest request but always upon availability. Once again thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. Kind Regards, Dimitris Koursaris Guest Service Manager
