“Okay”
Went to that hotel to swim it was not working. Went to play a movie I rented DVD player would Not work. Tv was little small and the break fast Was not happy with it do to only being able to have A red apple or bagel. That's not my kind of break fast.
“If you don't have high expectations......”
This hotel served its purpose as a place to sleep for the night. The beds weren't the most comfortable. The rooms weren't as clean as I would have liked, with dust/dirt and empty water bottles from previous guests under the beds. The staff was polite and it was an ok walk to get to the main part of downtown.
“Great place for sightseeing on a budget”
My wife and I arrived very early, 6:00AM, and were directed to take a cab to hotel which the hotel paid for. We then were allowed to check in 9 hours early since there was an open room with two beds - PERFECT! We showered and follwed great directions from desk clerk to a nice breakfast place where all the police were eating (that means you know it is good) We had a nice room, superb sevice, polite and friendly and we were only a few blocks from DOWNTOWN and all its attractions such as Saturday Market, Crab Houses, tourist info etc. We walked each of 5 days to and from hotel with no problems. The fantastic museum is directly across the street - what more could we ask for? Coffee was available 24/7 and always hot and tasty. Breakfast wasn't great, but a bagel or two with cream cheese, a good couple of cups of coffee and an orange for the road was more than enough for us to be happy. The office clerk that someone else had complained about in a prior posting was really a neat young guy and helped us a lot with directions, cabs, luggage, tips and advice - couldn't ask for better. It is definitely NOT the Hilton, but it was great for these two retired teachers vacation - Thanks for a wonderful visit - We would book there again in a heartbeat!
“wmtakk”
Stayed here tiwce in my 2 week trip (total 4 nights). In all rooms, the toilets didn't stop running after flushing, which distrubed our comfortable sleep. The room was clean, but the sound that neibourhoods closed the door was so loud that I felt uncomfortable.
“Good value”
We booked this on the Expedia "unpublished rate" which is a little disconcerting. However, the hotel was fine - very basic, but was clean and has a stocked mini-kitchen, gym and pool. It would be fine for a business traveler. Location is convenient and parking available.
“It was not worth it for the price”
For people looking to stay in ANchorage longer and plan to shop for meals to bring back to their hotel - this would be ideal. Otherwise, you're in a noisey location downtown (party people at night). Desk clerk didn't even explain my room location which was tricky to find, and I hated lugging around 2 big suitcases to find it. Coffee machine was broken but we made it work. I did like that we could go to the grocery store and put our food in the fridge or freezer there or use their microwave. Room had a little funny smell when we first entered and there was a little noise from maintenance people down the hallway.
“Stay at a Motel 8 for the money.”
I did not like the hotel. The carpeting was dirty in the lobby, halls and in my room. The cupboards needed repair and the towels were skimpy. I felt like I was staying at a Motel 8, which is much cheaper. Not a good buy for the price. A good location was the only plus.
“Never again”
Lived in Alaska 20 years, most disappointing experience. Have stayed in past but services are deteriorating. Parking fees, no pool/spa as advertised, no hot water for showers one morning, not told up front of the possibility, bad mattresses, no ice bucket available(seriously!!), no breakfast available during designated time, many unhappy guests, overwhelmed staff. Need I say more. Last time for us to stay. There's other comparably priced and better service in Anchorage.
“Great hotel in a sketchy part of town”
Extended Stay Deluxe was clean and comfortable. The free shuttle service to and from the airport was a total selling point for us. Staff was great in arranging the service almost immediately upon request. We were ready to soak in the spa and swim in the pool, but that area was (unfortunately) closed. It was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend - the hotel might have waited until after the holiday weekend to work on it. As long as you go out of the hotel and turn left, you are within walking distance of what you might think of as "downtown" (shops, restaurants, etc.). My husband and I wanted to get a little milk at a convenience store, made the mistake of turning right, and walked forever without finding anything helpful. NOT scenic! But not dangerous or anything. Even with that, it is a good value for the money.
“Spacious Room for the price”
Extended Stay Deluxe, while by no means deluxe, provided a very large suite which was perfect doing laundry and drying out stuff after a week in the bush. The airport shuttle was not running but the hotel provided us with cab fare to and from the airport.
