Very tired hotel

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Hotel has excellent location and good staff but it is in need of renovation. Room was very dark as walls were painted in browns, greens and greys, bed was in middle of room with a fixed headboard arrangement in a very dark wood effect and only had a bedside table on one side which was not very convenient. The curtains had several tears in them and the bathroom had seen better days although it was clean and towels were good. The a/c unit was too noisy to be left on during the night. There was plenty of room to hang clothes in the wardrobe but no drawers only three small shelves which was insufficient for us on a 3 night stay. All in all not the best of hotels we have stayed in by a long way.

Long Weekend Break

Posted 19-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing in particular
Location: You are in the heart of the action so things to do find you!
The hotel ticked all the boxes for us. We stayed in a deluxe room and it was fine, there were no real negatives to mention. The room was quiet on a night even though it was just up the canal from the red light district. Breakfast was pricey; not that it bothered us as there are lots of nice eating places by canals to have a late morning / brunch meal. Bed was comfy, bathroom adequate and a free key safe in the room. The room had a very high ceiling so it felt airy and bigger than it actually was.

WEEKEND AWAY WITH FRIENDS

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: FRIENDLY STAFF. NICE ROOMS. CENTRAL LOCATION.
Cons: BREAKFAST WAS NOT INCLUDED IN OUR BOOKING AND THOUGHT IT WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AT OVER £20 PER PERSON IF YOU WERE TO HAVE BREAKFAST AT HOTEL
Location: HOTEL IS VERY CENTRALLY LOCATED AND WE COULD WALK EVERYWHERE. WE BOUGHT THE HOLLAND PASS 5 BEFORE WE TRAVELLED AND FOUND THAT GOOD VALUE
VERY PLEASANT STAY. STAFF WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL. SOME OF OUR GROUP WERE GIVEN ROOM UPGRADES WHEN WE TOLD THEM WE WERE THERE TO CELEBRATE A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY FOR TWO OF OUR GROUP MEMBERS.

Super central Hotel but on a lovely quiet st

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Location: Red Light District is close but not 'too' close. Also close to the Marketplatz which has many restaurants, bars & cafe with outside seating!
We had the greatest stay here recently. Our room had floor to ceiling windows, canal view, huge bathroom, good storage and a comfy armchair. I actually wanted to move in. The maids came in every day and spring cleaned, changed the towels and tidied up after two girls with a lot of clothes. It was by far the best hotel experience I have ever had. Lovely staff, clean, modern, central and safe. Would recommend to any one wanted to go to Amsterdam!

Excellent hotel conveniently located

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: Location and proximity to all attractions. Very friendly staff and clean hotel. Concierge service was very useful.
Cons: No swimming pool. Only one 110v plug in the bathroom.
Location: 5 minute walk to Dam square/Red-Light district. Far enough from the nefarious night life for concerned families.
Great hotel, friendly staff, very fast room service. 5 minute walk from Dam square - close to all the activities yet far enough away from all the noise and crowd. The hotel is spread across 2 buildings and access to the second building was through an underground passage. Not a big deal though. You can check in your luggage at the concierge in the event you arrive earlier than expected. We had booked a Junior suite which was very big compared to European standards or even US standards for that matter. Free breakfast was included in our rate and was a blessing - very well stocked. The rooms were very spacious, tastefully decorated and private. Bathrooms were very clean and well stocked - included both overhead and hand-shower and full size shower gels/shampoo. Room service was excellent - under 15 minute service at anytime of the day/night. In-room safe, huge windows streaming in plenty of light Beds were comfortable and room had an extra sofa-bed. The hotel has bikes for rent though we couldn't use it as they didn't have any kids bikes. Called a taxi from our room on checkout and taxi arrived within 10 minutes. So convenient. Hotel also has a good exchange rate for people looking to exchange currencies. Excellent hotel for families.

Great hotel

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: Excellent accommodation and helpful/friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Good location being near the centre of the city which enabled us to do site seeing in between rain showers!
Arrived at the Radisson Blu hotel on Saturday morning to stay for two nights. We had been there last year and were so impressed with the room and service having wanted to go to Amsterdam again this year decided to go to the same hotel again.Although the room we had was okay we preferred to have one similarly looking into the glass atrium as last year. The staff at the reception were very helpful and allocated us another one and both of us enjoyed a great few nights and had brilliant breakfasts!

Great location

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: Bed a bit soft
Location: Within ten minutes walk of flower market dam square red light and central station
Had a good stay here hotel is in a nice quiet street but only 5mins walk from red light district dam sq and it's easy to get to all the major attractions. Staff all very friendly and helpful and would stay here again. My only criticism is the three internal steps in the room down from the bed area looks good but is a bit of a nightmare at three in the morning in the dark.

Lovely Location

Posted 20-Jun-2014
Enjoyed the hotel, staff and stay at the Raddison Blu while in Amsterdam on vacation. The hotel was within walking distance to Dam Square and shopping area. The breakfast was oustanding and had a variety of choices to choose from. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is traveling to Amsterdam on vacation or business.
