Disappointing service

Posted 22-Sep-2014
Cons: Communication with clients.
When I booked this hotel for a business trip over 2 days, I was reassured that I had been able to speak to the concierge and book transport from the airport, ensuring I would be met from the plane. Unfortunately, when I arrived there was no one visible, and after waiting for some considerable time I was forced to take a taxi to the hotel. When I arrived at reception I was therefore astonished to be charged a 50 Euro "no show" charge for my airport transfer. This charge has since been refunded and the hotel has accepted responsibility for the mix up, but there has been no apology, no offer of compensation and I had to spend several emails and phone calls explaining what had occurred before the Radisson Blu would accept that they were in the wrong. As this hotel is in direct competition price and amenities wise with several other comparable venues, I would not recommend or stay again with this hotel.

Short break, first time in Amsterdam

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: The helpfulness of the staff on reception made it easy to find the places we wanted to go. It is situated right in the middle of the old town.
Cons: The size of the breakfast room.
Location: Central station, canals, museums, boat tours, red light district, cafes and coffee shops, everything within walking distance.
All the staff were pleasant and keen to help. The dining room was not big enough for the number of people for breakfast so there was a short wait. We booked a business room for the extra space but there was only a view of a roof which was disappointing. Everything else was fine.

Well located and appointed

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, restaurant and excellent staff.
The hotel was very good and the staff most helpful and courteous. Restaurant and food was excellent. The room we stayed in lacked a full length mirror and also had steps up from the room entrance and bathroom to main sleeping and living area. Not particularly suitable for elderly people with leg problems. Perhaps staff should discuss this with client at reception when allocating rooms. Apart from these issues our stay was most pleasant.

Well located

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Great hotel very close to everything in Amsterdam, with nothing more than 15-20 mins walk away. On a quiet street flanked by picturesque canals so everything is so easy to navigate. Room was clean and comfortable, but I think I was allergic to the sheets as they made me very itchy, although boyfriend had no trouble. Staff pleasant and helpful, although we didn't need them at any point other than checking in and out. Found the price expensive for what we got. Excellent and quiet location made up for it, although surrounded by coffee shops - but where in Amsterdam isn't?! Highly recommend.

Well located rooms for a pleasant stay.

Posted 28-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Decor could be fresher and a bit less dated.
We came here for a group 40th Birthday celebration. The staff were very professional and courteous and the rooms were reasonable, with very good facilities, like an iron and kettle - although the beds are very soft. We booked 2 rooms next to each other and were generously permitted to check in early to one of them whilst the other one was getting prepared. However, we were missing complimentary water and chocolates in one of the rooms and one room was notably bigger and brighter than the other. No view to speak of, only the backs of neighbouring houses and the rooms were on the dark side, with very heavy wood decor Lovely location in a quiet street by some beautiful canals and houses, 10 mins walk from Centraal Station and easy walking distance of lots of the essential attractions like the Rijksmuseum (10 mins). Would stay again; preferably with a better, brighter view!

Pros: Best beds .
Cons: More than 2 English tea bags a day..some times one. No milk available.
Location: We took a day tour to Brugge.
The location is centrally located to all sights.. Seems to be a problem with English breakfast bags supply ,only 2 per day .no milk available..
