"Clean friendly but tight with tea coffee and milk."
Lots roadworks around hotel at moment. Dont come home late and expect to park car again was full and barrier would not open. Do like others we parked on slip road leading into car park. Good bus and tram into the beautiful city. Was no english tea in room and coffee and powered milk sparce. But in all fairness was told we could have called down and some extras would have been sent up. No bisciuts but ash tray in room so could smoke if wanted to! Which was a bonus and a surprise as very rare one of us smokes. Thing is rooms just didnt smell of smoke. So smoked outside. large beds but tended to slightly part during the night. Ok if you like to sleep apart and you dont cuddle in the middle.
I only spent one night here but I would definitely stay here again on a multiple-night trip. The staff was friendly and willing to assist. Although the location was a bit outside of the main city center, there are plenty of trams and buses in the area and if you are driving, the autobahn is nearby.
The room I had wasn't large, but it had everything that I needed and it was comfortable. I was not there long enough to check out the sauna and steam rooms but I was under the impression that they must have been nice for the amount of people that I saw going to and from them.
I have stayed in alot of hotels in Mechelen over the years and Teh Mecure V is the best!Great Hotel wonderful venue. Lovely restaurants close by and very near to teh grand market
Only comment is that if you are needing to take your car, you need to park at the secure parking near the Novotel, (just past the NH hotel) accessed via Brussels Port at the West of Mechelen. The parking is great very secure and near to the hotel! But don't plug in the address of the V to the Sat nav try the NH or the Novotel, or you will be like me taking 1 hour to travel 2 miles only to find you are parked outside the hotel having travelled down a restricted road!

Convenient to rail station and beautiful downtown square. I found it convenient to travel to both Antwerp and Brussels. Unique experience to stay in a church converted to a hotel. I stayed in a standard cozy room which was very spacious.

An excellent hotel with great quality service and standards. All staff were fluent in english - good for the english traveller who isn't so good at languages! Didn't use the restaurant during the evenings so can't comment on this, but the staff were more than helpful to recommend an alternative place to eat when the restaurant was fully booked. Good location within walking distance of the town shops, market square and sights. I can't think of a bad word to say about my stay at this hotel, in fact I hope to stay there again next year!

This warm and welcoming gem of a hotel is conveniently close to the tramline taking you into the centre of Antwerp within 10 minutes. Family run, the owners offer a professional yet friendly service, offering plenty of interesting and useful information about the city and its history. The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished. We would love to return sometime soon.

Stayed at the hotel for three nights. The renowned hotel restaurant was closed for those nights, but there were excellent French and Japanese restaurants nearby. Room and bathroom were clean and well kept: white slippers and white dressing gown were provided. Breakfast on the 2nd and 3rd morning was excellent with fresh fruit, a range of breads, cheeses and meats. I was surprised to be discouraged from taking my half drunk bottle of breakfast water back to the room by reception staff. Cleaning staff were very friendly and maintained the rooms well.
