Alex at reception was friendly and informative, helping us with our bags and explaining everything about the hotel. Can't beat the location in a courtyard just off 5th Avenue. The place is very secure with a locked gate and 24 hour reception. However, we were kept awake by the loud music from a nearby club - until 3:30am. You are in the heart of Playa del Carmen, just steps away from restaurants and bars and the beach. They have great security. The courtyard is lovely. The rooms are older but the beds were fine an we did have hot water. Walmart is the next block up. This place was great. I didnt spend much time in the hotel because of our adventures, but it was like home when i got there to relax. My friends visited my hoteland want to stay there next time.
