The Loomer Road Stadium is the home of speedway team, the Stoke Potters. Located in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Loomer Road hosts speedway events almost every week between March and October. The stadium has a friendly atmosphere and welcomes families, and for older fans there is also a bar area within the main stand from which the racing can be viewed through a glass window.
Loomer Road is open on three of its sides but can still hold crowds of up to 5000 spectators. The Stoke Potters are one of the top speedway teams in the UK with riders drawn from Sweden, Germany and Denmark as well as plenty of home grown talent. The stadium is also home to Stoke's junior speedway team, the Stoke Spitfires.
Getting to Loomer Road
The stadium is located in Chesterton, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, and is easy to get to by road. If arriving from the south, take junction 16 of the M6 and follow the A519 to Newcastle followed by the A34 to Chesterton, and from there you'll see signs to the stadium which is on Loomer Road Industrial Estate. From the north, take junction 15 of the M6 and then follow the A500 into Stoke followed by the A34 to Chesterton, where you can pick up the signs to Loomer Road.
