"Absolutely lovely stay at the hotel. The entrance is so grand and picture worthy!!! Rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast was scrumptious."

"Rooms seriously need some TLC. Clean enough, but in my room, radiator valve just spins, bathroom light did not work, towel rail did not heat, bathroom door difficult to open, no shower gel or shampoo, car park lights shining through thin curtains. Chef/s excellent - great evening meal served by great staff. Breakfast was superbly cooked, but the quality of the ingredients were not great."

"The gym and pool were good but busy. It's a walk out of town, maybe 20 mins walk to the train station. Very nice staff, bar staff were particularly friendly and welcoming. Had a minor cleanliness issue with my room. They didn't correct it and didn't offer any recompense for it. Not my hair on the chair!"

"The hotel comprises a lovely old main house, to which a large block of more functional 70s/80s rooms are attached. The room was clean and well equipped, although a little dated. The staff were friendly and welcoming although we did have to wait a bit for someone to appear when we checked in around 7pm. Breakfast was very good, with food cooked to order and presented well. A great location for the village, canal and access for great walking in the hills. Would stay again and recommend."

"Really disappointed with my stay for the price. Really poor room, breakfast was awful and had to pay extra for parking - which i was emailed about the night before my stay and price stated (£6) was incorrect. I paid £7.40 for parking for less than 20 hours. "

"The lift was out of use which was not ideal. My guest struggles to walk after smashing her ankle last May and we were on the top floor. The receptionist did move us to floor two but we arrived Friday and left Sunday - but the lift was still out of order. The rooms were clean. And breakfast was good. "
