"We stayed in an upstairs courtyard room. The room was clean and well presented with the bedding fresh. All the staff that we interacted with were a credit to the hotel and nothing felt like too much trouble. We opted for breakfast each morning of our two night stay and the quality of the ingredients and service were a highlight of our visit. The external door of our block was a problem as difficult to shut without banging and others left it unlocked. We noticed this with most of the courtyard external doors. An interesting place to stay."

"For me the hotel represents good value. I like the location by the river and there are plenty of places to eat and drink at within a 10 minute walk. The staff are great, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style but as with all buffets, it’s in the timing. Nice bar which we used as well. Not our first stay here and won’t be the last."

"The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast was cooked fresh to your order. The hotel was a little further out of Newcastle than what I thought but we walked into town for food and drinks in around 45 mins. The hotel is on the older side but was perfect for our needs (3 lads in a triple room on a motorcycle tour)"
