"This is an outstanding, classic and very elegant old school hotel in the center of downtown. It reminded us of the Plaza in NYC. Much is easily accessible, including Gastown and the waterfront. If you travel light and have a cruise booked, you can even easily walk to the docks and check in to your ship, though cabs are abundant. We booked a suite and were given a room that was impeccably appointed, not to mention spacious, with a huge walk-in closet and windows with multiple views of the city - one of the best rooms we've ever had. As for the staff, we've rarely encountered greater courtesy and professionalism. This is truly a 5 star hotel without pretentiousness. We couldn't recommend this hotel more highly. "

"Sharing a bathroom was different but worked out well as facilities were really clean and quiet."

"This hotel is centrally located with a train station nearby. We did not have a car, but was able to walk, bike and use public transportation with no problems. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The only thing is that housekeeping did not clean our room for our two-night stay, perhaps we should have asked for service. Vancouver is a lovely city."
