In a rough couple of blocks of a Granville with some pot shops, strip club and sex shops BUT it is still pretty safe and comfortable to walk all around after dark with kids/teens. We stay here all the time and none of us are bothered by the area. Can be noisy due to bars in this strip but other guests are always respectful of the noise cutoff and outside noise has only been a problem if we keep the windows open, and then only until 1-2am.
