The location was perfect the room was immaculate and the staff was next level amazing. Would highly recommend. It felt like home away from home and would definitely stay here next time I’m in Vancouver.
Clean room - responsive staff available on phone. Parking was convenient. The shower handle did break off and we couldn’t get the pull out bed to go back in. But outside of those minor things, the stay was great!
Property was excellent. Room was spacious ; much bigger than in the pictures. Everything was spotless. Staff were super helpful and accommodating; nothing too much trouble. Everything worked as it should. Car parking is available at the rear of the building. Gas Town is a 5minute walk away.
Beware the area is very confronting! Heavy drug use everywhere! You do not feel safe in the area at all!
The staff barely speak English . The check-in process is very clunky, especially when having to use Google Translate to communicate. 2 nights not good value at all .
The rooms and beds are comfortable, and the linen and towels are fresh and new.
Better to stay in a hotel, not in that area of gastown. Vancouver needs to clean up their drug problem.
Property is in Gastown which has plenty of food and drink options. The property itself is recently renovated and incredibly clean. The check in process was very straightforward and the room was to a high standard with an incredibly comfy bed! The staff were friendly and super helpful when we needed to reach out with some questions. They very extremely accommodating when it came to looking after our luggage before our flight home. Highly recommend!
It’s a boutique hotel, it was nice, its clean -and walking distance to restaurants however I feel like I am in the prison because of fully gated apartment/hotel but I get it It’s for safety since there is a lot of homeless roaming outside. Overall 3-4/5. Thank you.
For a nice clean room with a beautiful walk through Gastown on way to Canada Place ... You can't beat Block House. Bare bones room, no clock, no phone but that's the charm. The exposed materials (brick, wood, steel, pipes) are also super charming and a big warm bed. Noise was minimal but I used ear plugs just in case. I walked through the neighbourhood several times at various hours, I never felt unsafe.

Stay away!
If you like to have a good nights rest and sleep, stay away. You can hear people walking upstairs, talk upstairs, you can hear people talking outside through out the night, screaming, singing, yelling. You can hear the faucet running from the rooms next door to you. Door slamming all night long.
Unsure how this has gotten 4.7 rating don’t believe it for a second.
Oh and the rooms had a sewage smell to them.
The only redeeming quality was a clothes steamer in the room.

We were given wrong access codes. The toilet was clogged upon arrival. My pregnant wife, during our anniversary, was in dire need of the restroom but they did not have a plunger. After an hour of waiting, we were brought a plunger and the employee handed it to me and WATCHED ME unclog the toilet. Additionally, we were in town for one night, and could not get ready for our $1200.00 comedy show due to their being ZERO HOT WATER THROUGHOUT the building for us to take showers. There were vagrants roaming the halls and harassing us as we entered/left. We tried to get a refund through Block House but were denied and offered a free stay. We sprint $4500.00 to celebrate our anniversary/pregnancy (as we live in Edmonton) so this offering was not reasonable. The $400.00 refund would at least cover the displeasure of the stay,
