"I had such a relaxing time in Hakone retreat villa, its such a special place. The staff are very attentive and helpful, they even brought a spare charger to our room when we needed it. The private onsen was all we hoped for it would be. The Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast is also worth noting, the ingredients are seasonal and fresh and every dish had been delicious. I'd like to come back every season to enjoy nature like this."

"It has a quality 4-star feel. We did the 40-minute private onsen and had one in our room. The buffet, including all you can drink, had a good variety of Japanese and Western options. It’s close to the pirate ship and ropeway if interested. Otherwise, it’s remote, but that was important to us. We’ll be back."

"Except one thing that I will mention at the end — The room was nice and clean. The public baths were great (able to tried both located on 5F and 6F) - well maintained and clean. The view of 6F public bath was spectacular. It’s definitely not convenient location because it’s the terminus station of the bus from Gora. Going back to Gora you will definitely take hotel shuttle which ends at 5pm, or taxi. We happened coming from Gotemba where the bus stops right outside the hotel. So the only thing we didn’t like - the private hot tub in the room. (1) small that could just fit one (we happened to go to another onsen hotel and in-room tub could fit 2); the room’s tub is at the balcony… let’s not say it maybe too cold at night. It was very dark at night too. There were only very dim light at the corner of the balcony making it very dark at night. — the dark and cold and small tub making us impossible to enjoy the private tub in the room. Not sure how others would enjoy or do that at night. But we think it’s just something that looks nice for you to have but it’s just not practical."

"Amazing, private and luxurious property. Our room was hidden from all behind a bamboo forest with a beautiful soaking tub, private dining area and comfy bed. The staff were so polite, so helpful and so nice. Privacy is always maintained in the spirit of a true Ryokan. Don't miss out on one of the best Bars I've seen anywhere in the world. Every Scotch and Bourbon imaginable in front of a private pond. We were the only people there."
