This is possibly the best place I have ever stayed in my life. What a beautiful, grand, picture-perfect property. It feels like it should cost thousands a night to stay there - like somewhere an exclusive celebrity or film star would stay. It was inspiring, enchanting. You have to stay there to believe it. I would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel apart from one crucial thing. After disembarking a Silversea cruise, we checked in and a friend from the ship accompanied us to the hotel. The front desk would not accept a US driver’s licence as ID and refused to let him see our room for a brief moment. I was informed that only a passport would suffice. The following evening, we invited a friend from the US who was in the area to come to the hotel around 8.30pm before going to dinner. We warned her that she...

We had a lovely room with lots of space. Everyday the room was cleaned and smelled amazing. The staff were always friendly and helpful to us and we came back one day to a lovely note and a bottle of wine as a gift from the hotel to celebrate us being on our honeymoon. Lovely touch. We spent some time each day by the pool which had fresh towels there and would be a quiet and peaceful place to relax. The location was fantastic and would absolutely stay again.

This is a unique property in the buzzy Getsemani area. Every room is different but I booked Up in the Sky with a small private roof terrace and private jacuzzi. Wonderful space to relax after a hot and humid day in Cartagena.
Breakfast is freshly prepared to order. All staff are very friendly and helpful and Marcus the owner was great at communicating before and during my stay.

Simply excellent. Sophia Hotel is fantastic hotel in the heart of the old town/centre. The rooftop pool and bar area has a lovely view and the food is good too. The music can be a little loud, but the staff are friendly and happily turned it down when we were the only couple on the roof enjoying the pool. Reception is excellent with any questions you may have and helped us immensely. The breakfast is also amazing! Thank you to the staff for such a great stay.
