Our air con was a little noisy but we only stayed the one night so didn't mention it. The wait for elevators can be long during peak periods. Would definitely stay here again though. "

"I really loved the Red Lion, the whole place is truly well kept, the furniture and the decorations including the lovely framed prints are all amazing and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming and cosy. My room was very clean and reasonably spacious. I could not recommend the Red Lion more watmly. Very happy customer. Many thanks to the corteous staff too!"

"First of all -- this is a fantastic location. Looking out over the cathedral, and a few feet from the High Street, I can't imagine a better place to spend three weeks (as we did). I'd like to make a special comment about the front desk staff, who were always cheerful and helpful, especially Sophie, Liam, and the manager (whose name I'm sorry to say I've forgotten). Steve in the bar was also lovely. The price is very reasonable, and for that reason, and because of the lovely front-desk...

"Hotel serving large grounds and in a very peaceful tranquil setting . Hotel very good and was able to check in early. Staff at reception very pleasant . Room ( double classic) very comfortable but picture had shown bath but not one in room ( minor detail) Sat outside the bar during the after and numerous tables composing about delay in receding food and drink . "We had a lovely stay. Beautiful walled garden for relaxing having a drink/meal. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Some of the hotel is a little tired, but they appear to be working on it. The bar was redecorated during our stay, with minimal disruption. Breakfast was adequate. We didn’t eat any other meals in the hotel, but the meals and afternoon teas being served to guests in the garden looked delicious."
