"We stayed two nights at the Old Vine. The location was excellent, walking distance from the Cathedral and shops. The room was spacious, clean and generously equipping with all the amenities you would expect."

"We stayed in the hotel Saturday night, under booking name - Cable. On arrival we were given room two. The room was very dirty, marks and stains everywhere and black mould in the bathroom and main room. Due to being tired from travelling we tried to have an early night and a good sleep. There was constant and constant loud noise directly outside our room. With multiple adults and children shouting and running up and down the corridor, slamming doors and being generally loud. This included the lady who checked us in when we first arrived. Around midnight I walked outside the room due to the noise and asked the people to keep their noise down. There was around 30 people in the corridor, I am assuming there was a family party or event, in which case I am confused as to why we were given a room in between all these orher people. The next morning I complained to a man at reception and showed him time and location stamped images of the room we stayed in showing how run down and unkempt the room is. It is common knowledge that black mould is a health hazard. I requested a refund and the person on yhe desk said the manager would call me today. At the time of writing there has been no contact and I will be surprised if my concerns were even passed on. Due to the loud noise myself and my family had a really poor sleep, meaning we had to travel tired and this caused a lot of stress and hassle. "

"The breakfast selection is excellent, fresh produce and lots to choose from. No skimping on the amount served. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The roo was very hot as the heating was on and no thermostat in the room to turn down."

"This was our first visit of the property under the new name and branding. The redesigned foyer and common areas are appealing and well designed, our family room was clean and comfortable and nicely put together in terms of style. The restaurant area is less successful in terms of design and we would not rate the breakfast above average. However, five stars to the entire breakfast team (open kitchen included) for their warm hospitality. "

"The wykeham is ideally placed for exploring Winchester its only a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and the city centre. The staff were friendly and approachable at all times. Our room Kelsey was large and comfortable with a good shower. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. "

"It is so unfortunate that a hotel with this potential has been somewhat neglected. We have visited previously and the change since then is apparent. Still wonderful staff, still a fantastic location but the rooms are in dire need of attention. Nothing as horrific as mould or dirt, still very well cleaned but the cleaners have an uphill struggle with the aging of the property. We will most likely return, it's still a good hotel but it could be fantastic!! "
