"Stayed with 10 friends with average age of 60. Photos of house interior on Vrbo are generally accurate - those on the website for Wheathill show different furniture and soft furnishings. Overall1930s shabby chic vibe is very nice and as expected. Good location in rural residential area10 mins walk to nearest shop and a pub. "The first room was like a furnace, as light was beaming in and no air con. We asked to change and to their credit they found us a better room however it was still hot. The hotel chain needs to update to air con in all their places. It’s a must nowadays , we cldnt sleep. The De vere group prides itself on quality and beauty but its letting itself down by not keeping up to date with clients needs to actually sleep in a comfortable sleeping environment"

"Some things in this hotel are quite tired eg the double-glazing in our room had 'popped', and the plumbing needed updating - mixer taps and a walk-in shower would be nice. Breakfast - they didn't do porridge, it's a very long time since we stayed in a hotel that doesn't do porridge. Parking was good and convenient, but you do have to pay for it. The staff were always very helpful."

"Very old style hotel, but clean and pretty, very calm, chilled vibes. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice. Cocktails were not great. The rooms are adequate and clean, comfy bed and pillows. I wish they had a mini fridge as it was boiling! And AC but the fan definitely helped. Great location for Lyndhurst and lots of parking."

"Lovely hotel and rooms comfortable and clean. Excellent food, had breakfast there. Beautiful location and setting, surrounded by peace and quiet. Only wish there had been air conditioning as it was so warm at night. Air con would have been the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!!"
