Very friendly staff, convenience to town, lovely breakfast.
+ Good location right next to the river and a 10 minute walk into the centre. Nice spacious rooms and a good buffet breakfast.
- You have to pay for parking.
Lady on reception was lovely and friendly. Such an interesting old building, obviously not immaculate as it is not modern, but full of character and so comfortable. Easy walking distance to town and the cathedral but still nice and quiet area.
Our quiet ground floor room was plenty big enough with comfortable beds and a partial view to the river. There were some issues with lights and plumbing which were partly sorted. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with plenty of hot and cold options. The cooked menu was a bit bit limited for vegetarians/vegans. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the cathedral and another 10 to get into the town. Overall we were happy and would stay there again.

The room had a good view of the river and Cathedral.
Having stayed several times in the past we felt that the breakfast choices were not as varied as in the past .
The room (No. 1) was quiet, but, with plaster peeling off the ceiling, could do with some redecoration. A loo brush would also be useful!
The hotel was in a very convenient location with easy walking to the city centre. Staff were all very helpful and friendly.
