"grade 2 listed public house"
My wife and i recently spent 3 nights at the golden eagle, the staff were excellent and the breakfast was amazing all freshly cooked to order.Located 5 mins from town centre with all its attractions made our stay ideal. No tv in room and a shortage of drawer storage was the only negative although there are two big screen tvs in the bar areas.

"Nice, value for money, quaint"
We stayed here with our little 2yr old, facilities are just as good as a budget chain hotel/lodge. Within 10minute drive yo both Zoo and city centre good location. Local facilities are good with a Co-Op, chippy/Chinese takeaway, gastro restaurant (booking required), tradition pub grub
