We would highly recommend the Hotel Ville dull"Arno, as it is a short walk to the city center, yet quiet and peaceful. We were dismayed when we checked in when we were shown to a room with a street view, as I had booked for a river view room. The staff was very apologetic and accommodating, and arranged for a upgrade to a suite. We waited quite a while for the room to be cleaned, but they were kind enough to comp our drink while we waited. The bar area, restaurant, and outdoor pool areas are lovely. Our room was better than ever imagined - huge, with a large balcony and huge rain shower with huge tub and double sinks. The furnishings were exquisite and high quality. The bed was comfortable and the linens divine.
We had dinner once at the restaurant and quite enjoyed our meal. The menu is creative and authentic. The only criticism was the way the filet was cooked. We asked for medium, and the steak arrived quite rare. When we asked if they may cook it longer, they gladly obliged, but the chef charred the outside without cooking the inside. I hated to waste this steak, but could not eat it this rare.
The breakfast every morning was amazing! great variety and quality of food. The wait staff was very welcoming and friendly, but a bit oblivious when it came to ordering a coffee. We expected that they would greet us and offer us a coffee, but we had to try to get their attention to do so. We loved the decor in the restaurant.
Bikes were available for rental as well.
Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is a winner. It is along the river and within walking distance of the main Florence site and a couple of blocks away from a bus line. The staff were helped us get familiar with the layout of the area and provided great recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a 'breakfast-included hotel.
Clean, safe, comfortable.
The staff was excellent. The hotel is NOT located near any major tourist attractions, but the #14 city bus stop was extremely close to the hotel and very convenient. The free breakfast was wonderful and the room was clean. The elevators are a little confusing but overall I highly recommend staying here. The value for the money was good.
Hotel Jane. Florence.
My partner and I recently stayed at this lovely hotel 20 minutes walk from Florence City Centre. What a find it was. The staff were courteous and helpful. We asked for a dinner recommendation at the front desk on the Saturday evening and in the ten minutes it took us to walk there, the staff at the restaurant knew we were on our way courtesy of a phone call from the duty receptionist at the hotel. The cleanliness and maintenance of the room exceptional. Breakfast although simple was no less enjoyable. The décor including lot's of black and white photographs depicting the 60's and an original Enfield Motorcycle in the bar area adds a quirkiness to the experience of staying there. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a quieter area in Florence while still being close enough to enjoy all of what the city centre has to offer. A fantastic time overall.

This hotel is within walking distance to everything. The breakfast was great and the staff was very helpful. The front desk staff can communicate in English well and they are polite and helpful. If I were to return to Florence I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
Stayed here for 6 nights in room 11 whilst in Florence for a wedding. There is nothing to fault with this hotel. Not in the centre of Florence but within easy walking distance. Enjoyed the breakfast in the garden area.
All the staff were friendly and efficient.
Just about everything was perfect with our stay. Initial check in included a thorough overview of the area, nearby facilities (including grocery), and best bus routes to and from downtown.
The only potential downside to La Farina Apartments is that it's about a 20 minute walk to reach Florence's historic central sights. However, if you pick up a Firenze card for museum admission (highly recommended), you also get free use of city buses. With the aid of a smartphone, finding buses to save you some foot soreness becomes easy (as does navigating the streets to the center).
The staff were lovely and assisted us with everything from summoning taxis to figuring out bus schedules for our next stop in Siena.
Can't recommend highly enough.
A great wee hotel in a quiet area but still close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the shower was excellent, though a bit small. Breakfast was traditional continental fare, and I enjoyed the delightful little old-fashioned lift! It's about a twenty minute stroll to Santa Maria del Fiore and it's on the same street as a pharmacy, just in case! On our last morning, the staff arranged our taxi to central station and waved us off. One thing to bear in mind is that this hotel does not include the Florence city tax in the cost of the room, so keep €3 per person per night for your check out. I would certainly consider a second stay at this hotel.
Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the hotel staff was very kind. The free breakfast buffet was awesome, lots and lots of delicious food. The location is also conveniently located next to the #11 bus which takes only 15 minutes to get downtown.
