After reading some of the reviews before I went I wasn't really looking forward to our stay here but once we arrived it was a fantastic lobby and there was a big queue at the reception but we was seen rather quickly. The receptionist couldn't help us enough. We got in the room and it was a little dated but it had everything we needed, certainly all the essentials and we had a good view of Madison square gardens. I mean I could be picky but for the money and location we couldn't of done much better. If you want a hotel just to store your things and get your head down this is a great place for that. I really enjoyed my stay in New York and this is ideal if your doing a trip on a budget and don't be put off by past reviews.
This is the third time I have stayed at the Park 79 and I continue to find it comfortable, clean and centrally located. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The neighborhood very safe and has great places to eat and shop. It is right behind the American Museum of Natural History; walking distance to Central Park; a bit of a walk to Time Square or a short walk to Subway 1 which takes you quickly to Time Square or all the way to Battery Park. There are a couple of cons, one being the beds (they could be harder) and two, the hot water could be more consistent. Other than these, the Park 79 is my go to "home away from home" in New York City!!
Great place to stay in Manhattan. It's close to the subway, a only a few blocks away from Riverside Drive Park and Central Park.
The room was small (this is NYC where space is a premium), but very clean and well organized so the best use was made of available space.
We loved our stay at the Comfort Inn Central Park West. Sure the rooms are tiny but what else to you expect for NYC (unless you want to pay $400 a night)
The hotel was located just around the corner from 4 subway lines and only a couple blocks from 3 more so it was very easy to get to any location in Manhattan.
Our room was amazingly clean, in fact cleaner than some 4-5 star hotels we've stayed in. (ie Sheratons and Hiltons) We would definitely book this hotel again. Thank you cleaning lady on 6th floor!
Filipe on the front desk, along with another girl (sorry I don't know your name) were friendly and so helpful. They helped us understand the subway and how to get around. They kept our luggage before and after check out so we could make the most of our time in NYC. Alex who ran around the hotel helping with just about anything was always smiling and doing what he could to make everyone's stay a good one.
The breakfast was very good. If you came later toward the end the selection was limited however if you came early there was everything from eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, waffles, hot or cold cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.
Coffee and tea were available 24/7 which was awesome!
The hallways in some areas were a little tired looking and could use some sprucing up but it was clean. I can overlook that. We weren't there to see the hotel we were there to see NYC.
Thank you for such a great stay!
5 minutes walk from Time Square which is right at the end of the street. 10 minutes walk from "Top of the Rock". We walked to all the main sightseeing attractions and shops from this location. The only time we needed to use the subway was to go to the Financial District & Statue of Liberty. We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel and were very pleased with our choice. The room was clean and well maintained. The hotel has a nice lobby but no other facilities on site. However there is a Deli right next door which sells absolutely everything. There are also 3 Irish pubs beside the hotel all of which sell hot food all day/night. Starbucks is across the street and Planet Hollywood at the end of the street.
