Very personal and friendly owner originally from the US. Therefore there is no English language problem. Close to train station and quiet neighborhood. Great price for Florence hotel. Easy walk to see Michael Angelo David. Not in the main tourist area but all very manageable. Would gladly stay there again.
The hotel's great location allows you to walk to pretty much anywhere in Florence. It's no more than 10 mins from the train station. The hotel has character and the staff are extremely nice, informative and friendly. Even the cleaning lady spend a few mins with us answering any questions we had. Check in time is only during certain hours. When checked in the guy at front desk spend a lot of time explaining what we can see, how to get there and actually did a whole itinerary for us. Super helpful!!! We had a great day of exploring the city and a very enjoyable evening.
The breakfast offered by the hotel is NOT free. We woke up and went to the breakfast room to eat something, there was nobody there but another family trying to figure out how to boil water. We figured things out quick, made some tea and had some cereal. Five mins later the receptionist walked in looking a bit unhappy. He was pretty angry that we just walked in and made breakfast ourselves. No one was there so we assumed that it's self serve. He later apologized for getting upset at us and we also apologized for making breakfast ourselves. It was just a misunderstanding so we would definitely recommend and go back to this hotel.

Two fans in our room!
We also had the pleasure each night listening to someone from across the street who would play the piano in the evening. It was beautiful! Nice soft background music.

I was looking for a place in Florence and had three criteria: good location, clean, and within my budget. Hotel Cestelli met all three. It's a very friendly and tranquil place. The rooms are all different, with antique furniture. The host gave me a map and helped me get my geographical bearings. Great location: five minutes from leaving the building, I was at the door of the Uffizi.
No food is allowed in the rooms, so plan to get all your meals out.

I was upgraded from a single with a separate bathroom to a three bed en-suite. Own keys very useful, favourite bit of town just so close to everything but quiet and friendly. I will certainly come back and recommend to others. Don't usually write reviews but feel it's worth highlighting this good service.

Like the title says, very nice clean rooms and staff. A 5 minute walk from all the best sights in Firenze, however we got booted from our original shared bathroom because it was made private for someone, not sure the story there, and moved down the hall to another bathroom. It wasn't bad and this may have been done because there were only 2 guests in the Hotel and the staff was trying to give us each a bathroom of our own. Would recommend.

We stayed at the Hotel Colorado for 3 nights before our families arrived for our Italian wedding (in San Gimignano). The hotel was a little bit outside of the main Florence area, though super close to the Accademia (where the David is). The hotel is nice and good value - it has wifi, private bathrooms and breakfast. The man who runs the hotel is SUPER nice and accomodating. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
