an OK all inclusive resort

Pros: friendly staff, nice beach, nice landscape
Cons: the room need upgrade
We enjoyed our stay there, but it could be better. The hotel room need upgrade. the phone in our room does not work when we checked in, and it was fixed two days later. The coffee machine looks very dirty and i didn't even bother to use it. The bathroom ceiling drips water sometime. Also the sound insulation is virtually non-existent, we can hear our neighbor's conversation. One time we came back from beach, my wife took a shower, and then found out maid forgot to put clean towels in the bathroom. Fortunately, there is a maid station nearby, I just went there and asked for clean towels. However, the public facilities seems in good condition. We like the landscape very much. The water in the pool seems a bit dirty, other than that, everything else is up to our expectation. Food wise, some restaurants are good, some are so so. Buffett food is good for our appetite the first couple of days, OK for the next two days, and became unbearable after that. Staff are mostly very friendly and nice people, a few dollars of tip will definitely make them nicer. Beware of the sales staff of Exclusive Traveller Club, they are everywhere. In general, if you are not picky, and budget sensitive, this place can be an OK choice for vacation. Otherwise, find some place else.

Nice resort at a lagoon

We spent 9 days as a family of 3 with a grown up daughter. It's definitely a family friendly place: a lot of small kids and kid activities. If you speak Spanish, the staff seems very friendly. If not, you tend to be ignored. The room service was awful: it might just be one cleaning lady. She never cleaned the mirror or the sink or any other surface in the room. She just made the beds. She left supplies in a very random way: one day, we would miss towels, another coffee, another bottled water, another toiletries, most times - a combination of more than one. Paying a few extra bucks for the Privileged is worth it: when we called the Priveleged desk, things got done very quickly. We got very good extra services from the Priveleged status as well: no wait at the buffet, accommodation close to the beach and pool, access to more specialty restaurants at night, special area at the beach ( much less small kids!) with better drinks at our Priveleged beach bar. Look for Ana at the Pure Bar: she is awesome! The food is okay but totally lacks variety: every day and evening was the exact same offering. Everything was very basic: some cheese and deli meats ( always the same 5-6 varieties), eggs, one type of beef, chicken, pork, fish on the grill and one dish of each meat, same sweets/desserts. Overall we had a good vacation even though we didn't feel pampered by the staff.

Old, outdated hotel with a lot of mosquitos and cockroaches, the staff is rude, the food is ok. The entertainment team is great. The beach is clean and nice. The pool is old and dirty, with very rough surface. The hotel deserves 2 stars.

Nice resort but rooms need improvement

Pros: - Outdoor areas were well-maintained. - Beach and pool were very nice. - Entertainment was great. - Staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Rooms are dated and a bit rundown. Definitely not what we expected. Renovation is a must.
Location: Convenient (only 20 minutes from the airport).
Overall we had a great time. Soft and white beach with no waves at all, just a bit of seaweed. Food was OK (typical of a all-inclusive place). Many people trying to get you to join the "exclusive" club or go on tours.

Really nice, fun, beautiful place!

Pros: Beautiful grounds!
Cons: Basic maintenance needed, which I did notice was being worked on here and there.
Location: We stayed on site, but heard the local "mall" was a joke.
Staff keeps the place very clean! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The restaurant food is very good - the buffet is fine (average) - shopping is minimal. Daily activities are very fun. (Ask for a schedule of events when you check in). Beach is beautiful and clean. Reception staff is a bit "bored" to have to deal with guests. Room 2804 has a leaky ceiling (which never got fixed while we were there). Nightly shows were entertaining. Showers are very small, although the shower head is high. Wi-Fi is difficult, but works here and there. Get to the beach early to get a seat!

The hotel was great I just did not like the food too much from the buffet but the food at the Restaurants were great.

very pretty place, need some facility renovation

Pros: The staff and cleaness
Cons: the food, it wasn't bad but it could be better; personal at the gate entrance need to be more polite and welcoming
Location: The location was excellent, a lot to do nearby
It was very nice, the gardens and the beach were excellent, very well kept, the staff was very nice and attentive; special mention for the entraitment staff, very nice and entusiastic, may your stay more pleasent, specially Chocolate, very funny.

Very nice hotel, bar staff is very pleasant!

Pros: The fact that they have priviledged as part of the package. I love the perks that go along with that.
Cons: Harrassing staff for time share, smoking and Pelicans in the dining area.
Location: I am not sure about things nearby but a lot of adventures are about 1/2 away, four wheeling, VIP tour, etc.
I had an overall pleasant experience with the hotel staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The priviledge stay is great and the perks were wonderful. Things that I see room for improvement are the way that the staff selling time share is almost viewed as harrassing. I go on vacation to be stress free not stressed out to be harrassed about purchasing time share. They follow you and try to bully you to sitting in on the presentation. I paid my hard earned money and I should be able to do as I please on my vacation. I was disgusted by people smoking all around you. In the states there are designated areas so I would like to see you all adopt that rule. I dislike being subjected to second hand smoke. My health is important to me. Although I was priviledged it was a bit far from everything. Lastly, the one restaurant where the pelicans were inside the dining area was disgusting to me. They were stealing from plates and sitting on backs of chairs and gaulking at guests. I understand they are a part of the hotel but I believe putting glass between them and the guest eating would be best.
