Pros: The staff and cleaness
Cons: the food, it wasn't bad but it could be better; personal at the gate entrance need to be more polite and welcoming
Location: The location was excellent, a lot to do nearby
It was very nice, the gardens and the beach were excellent, very well kept, the staff was very nice and attentive; special mention for the entraitment staff, very nice and entusiastic, may your stay more pleasent, specially Chocolate, very funny.

Pros: The fact that they have priviledged as part of the package. I love the perks that go along with that.
Cons: Harrassing staff for time share, smoking and Pelicans in the dining area.
Location: I am not sure about things nearby but a lot of adventures are about 1/2 away, four wheeling, VIP tour, etc.
I had an overall pleasant experience with the hotel staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The priviledge stay is great and the perks were wonderful. Things that I see room for improvement are the way that the staff selling time share is almost viewed as harrassing. I go on vacation to be stress free not stressed out to be harrassed about purchasing time share. They follow you and try to bully you to sitting in on the presentation. I paid my hard earned money and I should be able to do as I please on my vacation. I was disgusted by people smoking all around you. In the states there are designated areas so I would like to see you all adopt that rule. I dislike being subjected to second hand smoke. My health is important to me. Although I was priviledged it was a bit far from everything. Lastly, the one restaurant where the pelicans were inside the dining area was disgusting to me. They were stealing from plates and sitting on backs of chairs and gaulking at guests. I understand they are a part of the hotel but I believe putting glass between them and the guest eating would be best.

This hotel was sooooo great! The people was absolutely nice and helpful..... I love the beach and the pool and everything with all included the drinks and everything! I would definitely stay here again it's sooooo nice 😍

This is a mediocre hotel. The photos shown are not from the regular rooms but from the upgraded rooms very deceiving. Also no room service unless your a privileged or an exclusive guest which is usually a given at any other hotel in punta cana. You have to request your bed sheets and towels to be changed because they are "environmentally friendly".

Horrible

I would NEVER recommend this resort. Horrible service the room sucked,so my fiancé and I decided to upgrade to a different room that had nothing special, (like they made it seem), Far away from all the restaurants. 24 hr room service just to get a nasty ham and cheese sandwich or ceasar salad literally that's all they had on the menu. Paid extra for better room and service for nothing! And to top it off!!!! My fiancé and I feel asleep and missed dinner in the restaurants so we call to order our "24 hour room service " The phones stopped working after 11 pm for room service!!!I had to complain and call Expedia so they can get in contact with them just so I can order food. The food was disgusting.No matter which the five restaurants you were eating at for breakfast lunch or dinner it was nasty.NEVER AGAIN! :/

Will not be revisiting!

Cons: Just the basic fundamentals of Customer Service
This is not my first time staying at the Catalonia. In fact, I was there four years ago. However, the culture has changed drastically. One of the things I hated the most were the peddlers. As we walked, the resort, we were consistently bombarded with people trying to sell us stuff. No, was never enough. If you said no to one peddler, the other would ask. This behavior infuriated my fiance and I. This was a continuous consequence throughout our stay. To add insult to injury, the overall service was lousy. However, a tip was expected regardless of excellent or terrible service, and it was mostly terrible. The onsite restaurants were mediocre except the Japanese restaurant. I will never return to this resort!
