Pretty grounds

Pros: Hotel and grounds are beautiful
Cons: Bigger shower. Better food. A/C in restaurants and public restrooms
Location: Went to mall. No big deal. Went on boat to snorkel and swim. Two hours wasted at Park. Not what I wanted to do.
Rooms need updating. A/C leaked all over floor and quit working. Shower is very small. Restaurants and bathrooms are not air conditioned. Food looks great but tastes bad. Served lobster and shrimp. Shrimp very over cooked. Lobster tasted like dry cheese. Horrible. Pastries look good but taste old and dry. I live in Florida and enjoy good seafood. Everyone wasted food. The chef should be checking all the food left on plates and thrown away.

Hotel did not meet expectation

We called the front desk 7 time requested that our shower be unstop, no such luck. This was a problem very unsanitary. We were constantly transferred from one person to the other. Both of us was bitten in the room by something, I have a bit on my arm, she had not on her neck. Every day when room service came they left, towels but no face clothes. The house keeper did not change out use coffee mugs, she went into the restrrestroom and use a rash to clean them.

Pros: En höjdpunkt var det lilla coffeahouse som fanns. Underbar personal, sortiment och stämning. Det förgyllde våra kvällar.
Vi hamnade i ett slitet rum med bara kallvatten och en jacuzzi som inte fungerade. Inget wifi och hög musik till midnatt nästan alla kvällar. Hotellpersonalen pratade bara spanska och struntade ofta i engelsktalande gäster tyvärr. Våra amerikanska bekanta bytte rum 3 ggr på en vecka innan de gav upp. Restaurangerna var av skiftande klass, vissa mycket trevliga och andra oätliga. Invid receptionen såldes en sorts timeshare boende för uppgradering för 1000000 kronor och kontrakt över 20-30 år. Detta gav tillgång till fler utrymmen på hotellet. Vi hade alltså köpt en andra klass resa fick vi veta vid incheckning. Inte ok.

Pros: The staff was very nice.
Cons: Better housekeeping
The staff was all very nice. The resort was very beautiful. We really enjoyed the steak house, Japanese Restaurant and the Caribbean Restaurant, the rest of the food was okay. The room was not what I expected. Our air conditioner started to leak and we had a huge flood in our room, we used two of our beach towels and some of our shower towels to soak up the water, when the maintenance man came, he took the wet towels with him, house keeping would not replace the beach towels so we had to use the same two towels the entire trip. When we would take a shower and felt our towel needed to be replaced, we left it on the floor, expecting housekeeping to take it, wash it and leave a clean one. But no, they were folded and but back on the shelf. So we didn't get new towels when we needed them. That was disappointing, made me question the linens on the bed and everything else. Overall, the trip was amazing, other than the towel situation and flooding of the room, the resort was beautiful.

Great pool and beach. Ok rooms and food.

The pool and beach were great. The rooms were not the best. The food was ok at the buffet. The restaurants were all very good. The staff was very nice.

Location: Plenty of things to do. I seriously loved every minute I spent there.
I want to brag about how impressed I was with the staff in the bar, and restaurants. In the bar area - Lucia and Jennifer waited on our group of "13" over and over. Never did they do their work with the obvious signs of expecting a tip. We were a large group (current and retired police officers from the states). and they handled it like it was nothing. They always had a positive and friendly attitude and that alone was very comforting!!! Bar tender - Edward. Wow!! Very funny and friendly man. He always was in tune with keeping the entertainment going and our drinks, of course!! Restaurant - Juan, at the Rodeo. Juan was very, attentive to our needs. He waited on us like we were celebrities. I really cant say enough about him. Juan is an asset to your resort. Man, I wish I had a business here in the states, because I would work hard at having Juan come here to work - he is that great!!

Good hotel, friendly staff

Pros: The location was great, friendly staff. Nice beach and pool.
Cons: Fans in the bathrooms, improve the buffet food!
Location: Location was great, lots of things to do nearby but so much at the resort to keep vacationers occupied.
Check in took longer than expected (about an hour) I think the gentleman helping us may have been new- but very nice. Our room was ok, TV wasn't great but who watches TV on vacation anyways so that was ok. Didn't like that there was no fan in the bathroom. There are 4 nice restaurants you can visit one time each (they punch your card at the door) it would be more enjoyable to be able to visit there more than once since the buffet is mediocre at best. A few friends we met at the hotel got sick after dinner at the Dominican Restaurant.. so my boyfriend and I were glad that we walked out after an hour and a half of waiting for our food while those around us who arrived after us were onto dessert. Blessing is disguise I guess. The brick oven pizza by the pool was good and the juice bar good. Bar's were good and the staff was very friendly. Very short walk to the beach and the pool. There were nightly shows at the outdoor theater which were very good!

Nice hotel, well kept.

Hotel was nice. We upgraded to Privledged so you get a few extra perks. Hotel is a little more spread out than what I'm used to, but not bad. Probably 5 min walk front to back. Last Catalonia we stayed at everything was centrally located like the restaurants, pool, bars, buffets etc. Beach was great and there's a spot you can walk out really far and still waste deep. Probably a good 600yds or more. Only complaint I have is we never received or room service in the mornings ( but that's minimal because the breakfast buffet was just as good) and then the soliciting to the Pearl Club. They whisk you away trying to sell you something similar to a time share, and when you say no, they shove you out the back door. So if you say no right away you'll be fine, but they're pretty sneaky about just wanting to "show" you the club. If you're not interested.. Don't do it and you'll save some time.
