Very good option for family vacation. Beautiful grounds. Awesome entertainment activities. Weak wifi connect is a problem sometimes.

Great Family option

Great quality for the price paid. Resort is very kid friendly. They have lots of activities throughout the day, entertainment crew is outstanding. We stayed there 2 years in a row. Overall very satisfied. MaLoo beach bar with fresh fruit smoothies is the best! Hammocks on the balcony and by the beach are super relaxing! Very weak WiFi connection was the only downside.

Hotel Experience Overall

Atmosphere was great all around but the Wi-Fi was hit or miss most of the time. Avoid the Exclusive Travelers Club for Catalonia sales people because it will take 3 hours of your time for some BS sales. Other than that we enjoyed the resort and thank Expedia for a great experience and memories.

Great activities in beautiful setting

Pros: General facilities, the grounds are simply stunning, the food, the activities and entertainment are brilliant, a really good little shopping arcade
Cons: Maybe a bit more consistency in the attitude of the staff. Many were delightful but a few somewhat surly. The rooms need a bit of refurbishment.
Location: You don't need to leave the hotel. If you do, there are tons of trips available. The Dominican Rep is a fascinating country. Proud, vibrant, unique.
The hotel grounds are like a botanical garden stuffed with wildlife. The activities are non-stop and great for families. The rooms are just OK but more than compensated by the surroundings, food and entertainment. Did not want to leave. It is a shame this stretch of beach suffers from accumulation of seaweed but strenuous efforts are made to clear it every day.

Needs renovation. Food ok. No premium drinks.

Pros: Staff is polite and attentive.
Cons: Lots.
Location: Location is good. Beach is great as expected given it is on Bavaro Beach. There is a shopping center nearby.
Remodeling in progress which was not disclosed on Expedia or even on hotel's own website. Lots of construction/renovation noise (imaging listening to cutting tiles all day long!). Loud music (I mean VERY loud) music everywhere. It felt like there was some sort of competition among the various entertainers to overcome one another's music loudness whether you're on the beach or by the pools. There is no 'quiet' place to relax in this resort. We upgraded to the Privilege Level but there are no premium liquor brands at this resort. Even wine is an upcharge. Food is average.

Nice location but outdated

Pros: Location, beach.
Cons: Rooms and food
Location: Very convenient location. 20 min ($30 taxi fee) from airport, shopping close by. Long beautiful beach with lots of activities.
Location was nice, beach was nice but room was very dark, and not even enough light inside shower - could not see there. Our room was outdated and we had water dripping from the ceiling in bathroom directly on the toilet, which was fixed within 30 minutes but the mood was spoiled already. Food was all inclusive, choice of 5 restaurants, but food was very mediocre. We stayed only 1 night and then upgraded to ROYAL, adult only, part of the resort. That was a night and day difference: rooms, beach, food...you name it, way way better. Definitely worth the extra money. Excellent experience there! Romantic and very serene. Would highly recommend the Royal side if you do not have children and/or want romantic getaway.

Need a lot of improvement hotels very old

The food was the same thing every Day The room was in a very bad condition I would not recommend this hotel
