Great getaway

Pros: The service was great and the food was awesome. The staff really went out of their way to make our stay delightful.
Cons: The air condition needs to be improved. Our room was a little warm the first couple of days of our vacation.
Location: The resort is a distance from the other resorts. Nothing to do nearby but the tour companies will pick you up at your hotel.
We had a wonderful time in Punta Cana! The beaches were beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we couldn't have picked a more romantic spot.

Efficient staff

The staff were very accommodating. Our rooms a/c was not cooling enough. I called and told them and they moved us to a different room in less than 30 minutes. They resolve any issues we have, no matter how minor, right away. The "Priviledge" is worth the money, we only pay an extra $81 per person and we were able to get extra perks that exceeded what we pay for. Go for the Priviledge.

Don't t waist your money!

Pros: The beach was the only positive. Although you had to get there super early if you wanted a palapa.
Cons: Rooms, air conditioning, customer service.
So many issues that I don't know where to start. 1. They have no air conditioning in the standard rooms. It was broken while we were there in the high heat & humidity. We were moved to a different room a few days in after a lot of complaining but it was only marginally better. The thing that bothered me the most was that we were not notified prior to traveling & places like the Executive Club sales area DID have air conditioning. 2. Rooms were not great. Both rooms we stayed in had issues. Off the top of my head: non-functional refrigerators, small shower stalls (1st room)/low water pressure (2nd room) 3. Aside from 2 or 3 employees, everyone else treated you like you were unimportant or did not exist 4. Food was way too salty. 5. It took buffet restaurant staff forever to take your drink order & bring it to you. I was usually almost done with my meal by the time I got my drink. 6. A lot of trash on the beach 7. Beach area spot saving. People would go and reserve spaces early and then not come back for hours. How is that fair for people wanting to enjoy the beach?

Worst Resort Ever!!!! NO A/C!!! BAD SERVICE!!!!

Location: Shopping center, events you can do through travel agency
As we where checking in multiple people where coming up to the front desk complaining that they had no working water or power. Once we got to our room we tried turning on our A/C and figured out it was not working. When we went back to the front desk to inform them of the problem they told us that the A/C for the whole resort was down and that they where working on fixing it, but had no timeline as to when it would be resolved. (you would of figured they would have told us about this situation when checking in) That first night the temperature in our room got up to 90 degrees. This went on for the next 2 nights and every time we went to the lobby they told us the same thing "we are working on it but don't know when it will be fixed". On the 3rd Night of not having A/C we had enough, we called Expedia and asked for their help on resolving our A/C issue. Expedia contacted the the resort and spoke with someone to help us get upgraded to a better room. Once we got into the new room the A/C still wasn't working properly but it was a lot cooler than our older room. The staff wasn't friendly at all, not once did i hear a "hello" of even see someone smile. We also noticed the resort workers giving special treatment to those with light colored skin. If you where Caucasian or didn't speak a word of Spanish you where treated better. Overall my experience at this resort was not very pleasant, I am disappointed that we spent so much money on a horrible vacation. 0 Stars out of 5!!!

Wrost hotel even been to.

We were 5 families booked 5 rooms. Well to begin with we reached there 3:30 pm and there check in time is 3 pm but still had to wait till 5:30 pm to get the rooms. Out of 5 rooms 3 rooms air conditioning didn't work most of the days . Its more of a suffering than a vacation without air conditioning in 100 degree temperature. Hotel staff hardly speak English, when asked for manager they said he left early. Don't understand stand how such a big resort work without the manager on duty. We left the message for manager to contact us but no one contacted us in 5 days. 2 rooms bathrooms celeing were constantly leaks, again complaint several times but they couldn't fix it. we were waiting to end this horrible vacation because of this resort. I travel a lot for work and pleasure both but this was my worst experience ever.

Pros: Everything is short walking distance
Cons: Air conditioner
Over all it is very enjoyable hotel but rooms can be undated. Room was little hot at night time so hard to fall asleep.

I would never stay at a Catalonia property again.

Pros: The landscaping is beautiful
Cons: The rooms need to be remodeled and upgraded.
Location: Scape Park was nice but falsely advertised as to waterfall is manmade not natural.
No WIFI, shower and sink would not drain and no AC whatsoever.

Excellent except for the air conditioning!

Staff very friendly and welcoming. What I loved the most was the entertainment. Fernando and his staff made my vacation very fun. The AIR CONDITIONING was terrible!!! I complained and conplained they never did anything about it. Room was always at 29°C. I did not sleep well the whole time I was there.
