"Hotel was great, staff were great, restaurant was good, location was great. However the decision to renovate the hotel one floor at a time, month after month can be seen to be a major error by corporate management. Mon-Fri 9-5 the noise reverberating throughout everywhere in the hotel was highly likely to have exceeded UK health and safety limits, to the point of making rooms almost uninhabitable during this time period. Fortunately we were out of the hotel most of this time, but it would have been far better to close the hotel to renovate it all at once rather than a floor at a time over many months. The reputational damage could potentially be severe. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes, but no one told us in advance of the hotel refurbished (Expedia). I would check with the hotel prior to see if refurbishment is complete, especially if you have infants or small kids."
