Nihonbashi is a walkable, family-friendly neighborhood known for being economical and offering ample choices for restaurants and coffee shops. Many visitors come to enjoy the natural beauty of the parks, while others visit for the local theater. Hotels and hostels in Nihonbashi provide a good starting point for sightseeing in and around the Tokyo area.

Sightseeing around Nihonbashi

The museums and theaters add a sense of refinement, while the monuments and other landmarks offer local lore. Browse the collections at Kite Museum, Mitsui Memorial Museum, or Bank of Japan. For cultural attractions, head to Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall, Ozu Washi Museum, and Bridgestone Museum of Art. Monuments like Kabuto Shrine, Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Fukutoku Shrine honor the area. Some landmarks that can't be missed include Koami Shrine, Sugimori Shrine, and Takarada Ebisu Shrine. Create some family memories at Kyu Yasuda Garden, La Qua Tokyo Dome City, and KidZania Tokyo.

Getting around Nihonbashi

For a quick way to explore the city, catch a ride on metro transit at Mitsukoshimae Station, Nihonbashi Station, or Kayabacho Station. To see the sights outside of town, hop aboard a train. Tokyo Kanda Station is the closet train station, but Tokyo Station and Tokyo Hatchobori Station are also nearby.

Tokyo (HND-Haneda) is the closest major airport, 9.3 miles (15 km) from Nihonbashi. You can also fly in and out of Tokyo (NRT-Narita Intl.), which is located 34.9 miles (56.1 km) away.
