"I had an interior room and despite construction. My room was very quiet and very clean. The breakfast selection was excellent."

"This is a large hotel with only two unlinked elevators serving a single elevator bay, with up and down stairs on the same level, resulting in extremely long wait times. When departing, we called for luggage assistance, but after waiting 15 minutes with nobody arriving, we carried our luggage down the stairs ourselves to reach the elevators. Even then, we waited another 10 minutes before we could get into an elevator, as they consistently arrived full. The suite was very nice and clean; however, none of the USB outlets worked. Additionally, the bathroom exhaust fan and towel warmer were not functioning. We also encountered an issue with being incorrectly charged for breakfast. The hotel has an unusual setup where the Executive Lounge, which serves as the breakfast venue in the morning, does not officially open until noon. Guests with Executive Lounge access are entitled to breakfast there, but we encountered a staff member who appeared unfamiliar with the policy. Despite our request, they declined to verify it with management and insisted on charging us. The charge was later removed after we spoke with a manager, who was very apologetic and resolved the issue promptly. While the accommodations themselves were pleasant, the elevator delays, maintenance issues, and breakfast billing confusion significantly detracted from the overall experience"

"It is the perfect location to be in the city. I understand the age of the building, but there is zero AC in the rooms and the winds only open a couple inches. It’s VERY warm in the room. Also, the first room they gave us with our castle view was horrible with a giant wall obstructing the view. We requested another room and by the third try we had a decent view. Beware when paying extra for a castle view."

"The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Edinburgh on foot. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was particularly wonderful! There were good restaurants only a very short walk from the hotel. We stayed in a family room as a family of 4 and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"Location is great. The tram from the airport stops right in front of the hotel (Picard Place station). It can't get more convenient than that - you just cross the street. There are lots of places to eat and you can walk easily to the old town attractions. The rooms were tight (with the sofa sleeper extended) , felt outdated and damp from the humidity in the air. Staff was nice and the included breakfast was good."
