"Absolutely superb hotel, stunning interior, fitting modern amenities in with the historic interior design. Excellent on site restaurant with the exceptional waiter. The food was excellent especially the venison casserole with broccoli and then the chocolate chilli for dessert 🍨. Not forgetting the superb breakfast."

A great weekend away for my husbands birthday. The hotel is easy to find. Staff, through all levels, were very professional, courteous and made you feel very welcome. Our room was spotless but next time we stay we will probably pay extra so we can try one of the suites. Food was to a very high standard.
All in all many thanks to the hotel and staff for making our weekend away an enjoyable one.

This was a great place to stay for our family trip to Edinburgh. The tram station is right outside and only 20 mins ins. We drove and parking was straight forward albeit chargeable at £8 per day. The pool was a real added bonus for our kids after a long day of tourism.
Only slight issue for me is our kids are getting older and Novotels concept of a "family" room is starting to look less desirable than the Premier Inns as the sofa bed is tight. There is enough room for these to be slightly...

The Murrayfield Hotel is the gem of Edinburgh. I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights. It’s a quick bus ride to Edinburgh Castle. In a great old neighbourhood of Edinburgh with excellent local shops, a few restaurants and cafes nearby.
The room. My room had very high ceilings with the original plaster work. The hotel is a collection of beautiful heritage stone mansions. The room had been recently renovated with very nice furniture, TV and a comfortable big bed. The bathroom again recently...

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price.
Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?)
If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St.
We'll stay here again. Loved it.

Stayed here as my daughter was catching an early morning flight the following day.
Good value and very comfortable accommodation. Very clean throughout.
£12 for parking but that's airports for you.

It was absolutely lovely! Very close to Edinburgh Waverley and some lovely restaurants. Calton Hill is right next door as well. The front desk staff was very helpful, and the room was plush and clean. We wish we could stay longer!

Hotel and Spa staff were very welcoming and helpful. Chef was amazing cooked a special vegan meal for my daughter each night we ate in hotel, as there was nothing suitable for her on menu.
Room was comfortable and we had everything we required (only feedback I would give is that it would have been more useful to have a couple more sockets available). Loved the spa and we were very happy with the treatments we had. We also enjoyed the pool facilities (hydro, sauna and steam). The surroundings...

The best area to stay in Milton Bridge is within the village itself, particularly around the main road, the A701.
Milton Bridge is a small, quiet village located in the Midlothian countryside, just south of Edinburgh. The village centre, though compact, offers a few local amenities along the A701, such as the local shop and the pub. It's characterised by traditional stone buildings and a relaxed, rural feel, with the scenic River North Esk flowing nearby.
Couples looking for a peaceful retreat with easy access to Edinburgh will find Milton Bridge ideal. You can enjoy quiet walks along the river or explore the local countryside, then take a short drive or bus journey into the city for sightseeing. The village offers a lovely base away from the city's hustle and bustle.
For those planning to explore the Midlothian area and its many attractions, staying in Milton Bridge offers excellent convenience.
When is the best time to go to Milton Bridge?
The best time to visit Milton Bridge is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months.
During spring, the weather is generally mild, and the countryside begins to bloom, offering scenic views for walks and outdoor activities. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, making it a pleasant time to explore.
Autumn also provides comfortable temperatures and beautiful, colourful foliage. It's an ideal time for those who enjoy hiking or simply wish to experience the Scottish landscape in its full autumnal glory without the summer rush.
While summer (June to August) offers the warmest weather and longest daylight hours, it's also the busiest period, with more tourists and higher prices for accommodation.
