"We loved this hotel- room was spacious and very clean with lovely view over golf course. Nice bar and restaurant, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Easy parking. My only issue was the midgie insects around (like mosquitos) that seemed to find me several times in my room, and bit me all night. Such a small thing. Learn more about Lower Slaughter

Experience upscale Lower Slaughter: its dining, gardens, countryside and more!

Lower Slaughter is currently my pick for most picturesque village in England that I have seen so far. It is a very small village in the county of Gloucestershire located in the Cotswold District. Through the middle of the village flows the River Eye and from the flower covered banks you can watch the trout swimming in the crystal clear water.

At one end of the village next to the river is The Old Mill which is has a working (not all the time) undershot waterwheel. There is a small museum, craft shop and tearooms which are worth a visit. It is not as busy or touristy as the nearby popular Bourton-on-the-Water this is because there is no parking for the large tour buses which I think help keep the village's charm.
