From the outside the hotel looks good. The welcome at check in was poor, there was no warmth or friendliness. Room was ok, daily cleaning if the room was hit or miss, some days it was good and others it was poor, the bed was not done properly, towels missing, etc. Over our stay it transpired that they had a boiler issue and there was no hot water. When this was reported by me and other guests, there was no explanation from the reception staff; it seemed they were used to this. The staff could not cope with the demand in the hotel, it looked like they were short staffed. The cutlery, teapots, tables were not clean and food was not replenished in the breakfast buffet unless staff were specifically asked. The staff tried to accommodate but you could see they were stretched. In the spa there was no shower gel over all the days we stayed I could not believe I was staying in a Marriott hotel, would definitely not recommend it. More staff need to be employed and they need to be trained in customer service.
