I've stayed here before. It is very super clean and comfortable. Friendly staff at reception, Quiet location yet very close to two good stations, good for the E train and the No 7 subway train. The breakfasts were good, although cereals poor. (I brought my own). I liked the fact you could make a cup of tea any time. I would definitely recommend this place and intend to stay here again.

Was originally sceptical about this hotel given some of the reviews, however was impressed by the price given the easy and quick transport to manhattan so booked it - and i would absolutely book this hotel again. We arrived a little after 3pm, and had a lovely greeting from staff, but our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait.
We booked and paid through Expedia… an Empire via room with living space. Please note that the hotel does not offer this type of room. None of their Empire View rooms have the separate living room area. The Empire view rooms do give a great view of the Empire State Building but their ‘living room’ is a tiny space with a chaise and a TV. Management were excellent with us and moved us...

Our stay at Pod 39 was very enjoyable.
The hotel location is perfect. Quiet yet close to Grand Central, Chrysrel Building, Empire State and Times Square, lots of shop and eating out options nearby.
The hotel itself is in good condition. Its highlight is the rooftop. In the morning the bar is closed but you can still go there and eat breakfast & enjoy the views.

We truly dropped lucky when we booked The Carnegie Hotel, our first time in New York.
On arrival we were greeted in a very friendly reception by Elijah and then by Alexandra who was a pleasure to chat to every day discussing all our adventures.
The afternoon wine was always fun and the complimentary tea, coffee and snacks were a nice touch.
The location is spot on. Central Park is less than 2 minutes walk, the subway is on the corner and Times Square is barely a 10 minute walk.

Stones throw from Times Sq so perfect for a four day theatre visit. Had a 44th floor Deluxe King room, facing south, with a partial view of Times Sq. We had a fantastic few days at the Westin. The staff were so helpful. It was central for everything, especially the subway. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

Really nice hotel with a pleasant roof terrace and great staff; the free coffee all day was a nice touch as were the free croissants first thing. Lots of interesting food options nearby - iconic dining at: The Roxy; Bubby’s and Katz Diner were all only a short walk away. There are good transport connections via the nearby subway station and it sits in a very friendly and safe neighbourhood on the border between Chinatown and Little Italy.
