"Very lovely resort property at the top of a mountain road. Immaculately clean, well appointed rooms. We arrived in late afternoon but could not eat dinner in the main dining room as they have set meal times and we would have had to have waited 2 hours for a table. We, unfortunately, had to eat in a cafe-type facility which had a very limited menu and the food was just ok. The hot springs were nice and property well maintained."

"This is our most memorable stay in Japan. We had an exceptional room with private rooftop onsen and incredible views. The staff and management were especially helpful and more importantly they were sincere. Their recommendations were fantastic. Manazuru is a lovely, manageable, not over saturated town with limited tourist influence and it might be hard to find a better place to stay than this one. It can be viewed as expensive but in Japan you pay for what you get and the value was fantastic. We stayed 3 night and would happily return. Thank you to this hotel and the staff. Superb."

"My wife and I was extremely happy with my stay at Hakone Airu. It was our first time in that part of the town and hotel. First off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect; Away from busy town and off to a quieter part of the town. It was also very convenient as the train station is located only 10 minutes by walk. As for the rooms and food, the rooms were fantastic, spacious and the en-suite onsen was the highlight. It was convenient and we could take a bath anytime. As for the food, they have us a selection of what to choose from. The highlight was the wagyu beef for both the shabu shabu and stone grill. The taste was exceptional. I would highly recommend friends and family in the future to stay at this hotel."
