The landscaping of the hotel is so beautifully designed and maintained, it’s like staying in a fairy tale. Staff were friendly and attentive, particularly at breakfast. One small annoyance which I couldn’t understand was why they limited each room to only 2 access cards. There were 3 of us staying in the room and that caused us some inconvenience. They know hospitality!! The food was good. Got the breakfast and dinner and this is the traditional kind of food. It was delicious. It is a bit far from the lake but there is a shuttle service and a bus that can take you to the lake. It takes about 20 to 30 mins with the shuttle and the wait for the bus. The Onsen was enjoyable, the traditional way of sleeping on the floor was also good, the room got a little warm as the AC did not get any cooler than it is set to and this is during the summer. The night was cool when we were there so we opened the windows and it was fine. It was rainy when we were there but we truly enjoyed our stay here. The staff made us feel comfortable! It felt like a ¥3,000 meal but cost over ¥10,000, which was disappointing. On the other hand, the restaurant staff were wonderful—very friendly and informative. The bath itself was nice and relaxing, but the dressing room wasn’t well-maintained. There were many hairs on the floor, so I had to clean them up myself. Our room was old but nicely kept—spacious and clean, which we appreciated. However, there was a lot of noise from people jumping around in the room above us late at night, and our family couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk, and fortunately, the staff handled the situation quickly. While the hotel offered shuttle pick up from the bus stop, this information was not made known to us. We wish we knew to call the hotel to pick us up.
