"Amazing cottage one of the best we have stayed in. So cosy and clean, very well equipped and everything to a high standard. Great kitchen to cook for yourselves just make sure you take supplies as no supermarket near. After a long walk we looked forward to getting back to the cottage to relax. So peaceful and tranquil, great location also. Nice walk into Hawshead which is lovely three pubs with a few shops and cafes very pretty.
We will definitely be returning. 5 star location."

"Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry.
Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left.
It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but...

Amazing experience. Fantastic staff and customer service, very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Cream tea was freshly prepared and scones still warm. Room was amazing with a beautiful lake view. Homemade shortbread in the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also amazing, lovely fry-up with good quality ingredients. Brilliant experience all round, we will definitely be staying again.

We have a double room, well sized with lots of storage. Bed was soft and good for a few nights with been uncomfortable. Ensuite was good as well and the showers hot. All rooms look to come with a TV (limited to ITV and C4 channels only) and welcome book with the WiFi information (good for streaming)
Breakfast has to be preordered by 7pm he day before, good range of hot food on selection...

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year.
The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice.
We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.
