Happy to report that there were no weird smells that kept us awake! Great location too. Lovely grounds and very peaceful yet only a 5 min walk to centre of Windermere. Great boutique hotel all round. A really professional but personal feel about the whole place. Nice easy location for a walk into Windermere and not too long if you want to get down to the lake if you're feeling like a longer walk. Intimate lounge and classic dining room. The smoked haddock mousseline must be the highlight of the menu. It was run by a husband and wife team who were extremely welcoming and were supported by a team of attentive staff. the hotel itself was comfortable and offered different areas that one could sit in if one so desired. The owners and staff were more than happy to offer recommendations of walks to take and places to visit.
