"Arrived for a 2 night stay to be told our second night was cancelled due to government take over of the hotel. No call/email warning us of this so we arrived with two tired children and couldn’t then check into our room for three hours whilst I called hotels.com to try and sort it out. Hotel staff were useless and wouldn’t even make eye contact or offer help. Ended up ringing the USA for hours as hotels.com don’t have a UK switchboard. Abysmal service"

"La situation de l'hôtel est excellente, près du métro, de la gare et des principaux sites à visiter de Londres. Mon seul bémol est l'insonorisation de l'hôtel qui est déficiente, donc l'utilisation de bouchons auriculaires est indispensable. Le coût du petit déjeuner est aussi exorbitant . Sinon, très bel hôtel,très propre et personnel respectueux et efficace."

"The shower , TV , refrigerator , aircon and loo paper were all excellent in our Classic Double room but the bed was creaky and placed against a side wall - we are in our seventies and didn't appreciate the assault course . Things we had come to take for granted on our many previous stays at what we now call STG have to be requested from Reception for the Classic room : kettle , cups , extra pillow , room clean , towel change ( the last two never happened ) No concierge now - He always answered every question ! We drank in the hotel bar and dined in both restaurants - all excellent but £19 for breakfast seemed a bit steep . STG location - almost in Oxford Street - is great ; since the advent of the Elizabeth Line , just 2 tube stops from Paddington . I would recommend this hotel on that basis alone but be sure of what to expect !"

"J'ai bien apprécié mon séjour. L'hôtel est situé dans un superbe quartier, avec une foule de pubs, de cafés et de restos autour. On peut marcher dans n'importe quelle direction et visiter des quartiers magnifiques, des musées, des parcs. Le personnel est accueillant et très accommodant"

"The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. I have to say that the staff were very cheerful, helpful and approachable. They would answer questions, give directions with a smile and very patient. They were the best staff. We enjoyed our stay very much. Will stay there again next. I highly recommend this place. Also it is in a very good location."
