"Nice hotel, right on beach."
This hotel has a great location, right on a swimable beach and within an easy walk to town. In it's day, it was probably a beautiful building. Unfortunately, it has become somewhat run down and in need of maintenance and refurbishing. But if you don't look too closely, and don't mind a few imperfections, it is a great place to stay for the money. The room was very clean as were all of the public areas. The pool was lovely. The downside at the time of our visit was construction going on at the property next to us. This only affected us when we used the pool or sat in the lobby to use the wifi (which was NOT available in the rooms, as the website claims). We could not hear the construction noise from our room, which was super quiet. The view from our huge balcony was breathtaking. The "kitchenette" was somewhat of a joke. It was great to have a fridge for cold beer etc., but don't plan on cooking meals there. I asked for a coffee maker and did receive a nice one within a day. The staff, especially, Miguel at the front desk were extremely helpful. The restaurant at the beach, which seemed to belong to this hotel, but actually belongs to the complex next door, was convenient, served really good food at reasonable prices and also had a killer view. As this hotel is built on a cliff, there are many floors and many stairs. No elevator. Miguel carried our bags to our room, so that was not a problem, but people with mobility issues or little kids, would find this a challenge.
