My wife and I stayed at Posada de Roger over the last two weeks, The staff are wonderful friendly and helpful people.
The hotel is maintained with pride and everything we asked for was greeted with greta service.
The location is great and in the heart of an area with many fine restaurants. Next door Tucan Fred's is a welcoming and well run place for breakfast.
We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay there again. The pool is small but refreshing and very well maintained.
I stayed two weeks at Hotel Elosia. Check in was quick. Room was basic (no phone) but comfortable. Wifi was very poor. Breakfast was busy as there are not many tables for the amount of people all trying to eat at the same time.
Rivera Del Rio is in the old town of Puerto Vallarta, which makes a nice change from the all-inclusive and cruise ship hordes on the Malecon and in the Hotel Zones. The setting is gorgeous, and the staff are incredible. A very small staff work tirelessly to look after their guests to the maximum of their ability. The breakfast menu is small but includes everything from fruit plates to Mexican classics like Huevos Rancheros. The place is an old converted villa, and there are stairs everywhere...at least two flights to get from any point A to any point B on the property, so it is definitely not for they mobility-challenged. I would gladly return.
The hotel was super clean, all the staff were fantastic. it is located in a good spot. Central old town, about 5 min walk to the beach. It is a charming old style Mexican house, with a central court yard. It has the basics. If you want a authentic low key hotel this is it. If you want a Hilton, this is not your hotel.
rooms are basic but clean. Hotel facilities are good but WiFi is very poor only available in Lobby. very nice pool area, good value if you can get room for around $90 otherwise there are other local alternatives however I prefer this Hotel if I can get the price
The hotel is in good location, clean ,and I would return. Many places to eat and walk. You are in the heart of old town, short walk to beach, malecon, bus stops etc. This is a popular gay area but far from all gay. There are alot of 50 and up crowd here .
Pocket Guide: Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone Hotels
The Rio Cuale divides downtown and the Romantic Zone, an area brimming with bars, restaurants, and shops. Isla Rio Cuale features a river walk and a small museum with pre-Columbian artifacts. Stretching for 16 blocks along the shore, the Malecón boardwalk is lined with bronze sculptures and palm trees. Boats depart from a nearby pier to Yelapa and Los Arcos, favored by divers and snorkelers.
