We usually stay in Manhattan when visiting New York but this time we decided to stay somewhere a bit different and the Bronx was certainly different. The hotel was a bit out of the way for shopping in Manhattan but there's a great shopping plaza a short bus ride away from the hotel which I'll definitely visit again. Our room was great. We had a kitchen with a huge fridge, dish washer and microwave. There's a Stop and Shop supermarket just up the road, the hotel has a laundry room so you can...

It was just as I expected. It was not noisy at all (being so close to Times Square).
I booked a room with a bunk bed and it was as small as shown in the pictures so definitely as expected.
Stay was comfortable.

I really appreciated this hotel being my base. The staff were phenomenally friendly, welcoming and helpful. That made a big difference to me as this was my first time in NY, on a ten day trip alone. A big adventure. The mattress was firm (very important) AND there were feather pillows. Close to travel and amenities. It’s listed as three star. I see it as four star. Very good value for money.

Our stay at Pod 39 was very enjoyable.
The hotel location is perfect. Quiet yet close to Grand Central, Chrysrel Building, Empire State and Times Square, lots of shop and eating out options nearby.
The hotel itself is in good condition. Its highlight is the rooftop. In the morning the bar is closed but you can still go there and eat breakfast & enjoy the views.
Downstairs they have another bar. In the morning there is a free coffee and tea and some breakfast options are available to buy like...

Wonderful stay here for 4 nights with husband and daughter. We had a ‘two doubles’ room, which had lovely comfortable beds and little kitchenette with full size fridge. We enjoyed a lovely complimentary breakfast each morning with fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt and granola. On an evening we went up to the rooftop terrace with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the amazing views and sounds of the city - and the location is excellent, couple blocks from Time square but didn’t feel noisy or busy. Cozy hotel, nice styling, great rooftop bar, comfy big bed. Amazing location.
Would stay again.
Very small rooms, so not for all people.
Rooftop bar had different (less) opening hours than advertised.

My daughter and I had a trip to New York for our big birthdays, hotel was very central close to port authority, walking distance to time square and many other areas. Hotel staff made our visit special for us and are very helpful , friendly , professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would avoid 9th Avenue at night time as it didn’t feel very safe .

We've stayed there before and knew what to expect and they didn't disappoint! Always helpful staff, a great room (eventually) and a really good breakfast that sets you up for the day

The room was clean and cleaned well every day, the room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the location was great, although some might feel it is a block or two too far east, the staff/team could not have been more dependable, helpful and professional- each were real gems .For the price in Manhattan it was just what I’d hoped for. Sure it does not have a lot of extra general amenities but the room was fully kitted out and it all worked and I don’t need a spa etc . Will visit again .

Very convenient location with a great view of Times Square from the window. Very clean and has the perfect amenities - good shampoo, conditioner and a steamer.
Comfy beds, great tv, nice atmosphere/decor.
Nowhere to put clothing/put away suitcase but as I was only staying a night this did not matter at all.
