"Great B&B"
More of a small hotel than a B&B. Excellent rooms. Comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Convenient position close to heads of the Valleys road and Brecon, with good parking.

"Quiet and Peaceful country manor"
This was a lovely quiet country hotel. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was excellent. The room, although old fashioned, was spotlessly clean and comfortable and added to the charm of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

"Close to the centre of the town."
We had a warm welcome and had a ground floor room. The beds were comfortable and we had a delicious full Welsh breakfast. It was good to have private parking at the back of the property, but you will have to ask how to get to it.

"Centre of town"
Stayed for one night bed and breakfast, the hotel was centrally located with a multi store secure car which was relatively cheap as parking goes. Staff was friendly and the room was basic but yet comfortable. It's closely located in the centre of town and is within walking distance to the shops, pubs and bars.

"Hidden gem."
One of the best B&B in the country! Finding it was difficult as the satnav did not recognise the name. Best to use the street address and post code! Excellent for anyone wanting to explore Breacon national park and surrounding areas. Breakfast was always upto standard and the rooms are amazing. One extra feature that I personally liked was the lockable grounds which provided excellent security for our vehicle. All other hotels only had on street parking.

" A lovely gem in The Beacons."
Initially I received a good hearted E Mail from Alun and from then on it was pure magic. A wonderful little Guest House where nothing was to much trouble and with a very knowledgeable couple called Alun and Sally running it. I was even given a little map which Alun had drawn showing a picturesque drive . The room was spotless the bathroom was the best I have ever had when in B&Bs. The food was also very good and filling. This is probably the best little guest house for miles around the Brecons. Thank you both Alun and Sally.

"Nice, Simple hotel"
Hotel is perfectly adequate. Ok, its not going to win any awards for decor or furnishings but its was all perfectly acceptable. Staff were pleasant, no one was rude. Food was very good. We drove to the nearby Merthyr retail park with a nandos, and about 5 other restaurants in it, all were full up so we decided to eat at the hotel. And the food was far, far better than anything we would have got from the chains. The area the hotel is in is pretty shady, so I wouldn't recommend going for an evening stroll. But car park is nicely hidden and out of the way. We had several thousand pounds worth of bikes in a van, and it was all fine. We were also allowed to take our bike up to our room. The only real complaint I would have is that the restaurant and bar had the heating on full in the middle of the summer which made it very hot in some places. But apart from that, there is nothing wrong with this hotel, and for the price, it is a bargain.

Pocket Guide: South Wales Brecon Beacons National Park Hotels

Brecon Beacons National Park, situated in South Wales, is a haven for explorers, nature lovers and epicurean travellers.

The park is made up of 519 square miles of mountain ranges, river valleys, rolling hills, forests, lakes, waterfalls and hidden caves. In among this stunning natural beauty, you will also find some of Wales’ most colourful towns, pubs, farmers’ markets and Michelin-starred restaurants. A place of colour, contrast and extreme natural beauty, the Celtic rainforest is nestled into the southern slopes of the Fforest Fawr massif, west of Merthyr Tydfil. Here you will find steep, tree-lined gorges, caves and stunning waterfalls.
