I have stayed at this hotel over many years (20ish) and now find that the place has gone downhill under this management.
The first thing was that the hotel needs a complete revamp. The outside looked as if it needed a paint job to all the window frames. In my room (305) we found that the window was leaking, we could not open, but a large amount of water was on the windowsill which they came and mopped up with towels. the two side windows had blown included mould. has an old fashion heating-cooling system which was noisy and not very effective.
The evening menu was very poor. Where were all the lovely Welsh dishes we used to get? I eventually had the Mangalore Chicken. Precooked I feel and not good but filled a hole.
Breakfast: Orange fruit juice was watered down; fruit was tinned or frozen and watery. Hot food was only warmish with dried out bacon like cardboard. solid fried eggs, cold mushrooms, etc, etc. My partners tea had only one tea bag in a large pot. The second day we had three tea bags. This was charged @ £26 per day. We went on the third day to a supermarket and had a wonderful hot breakfast £14! I was hoping for some of the local produce on the hotels breakfast menu.
Looking out at the garden from the restaurant through the 14 (plus) blown glass windows, it was a mess. Grass cut but that was it.
We both felt that the hotel needed attention. The restaurant needs to reflect food is sourced from Swansea not a tin!
